The Chandigarh administration has set up an 'NRI
Tourism Facilitation Cell' here to facilitate visiting
Non-Resident Indians and foreigners.
The Cell embarks upon promoting tourism in the state
among NRIs, who would be provided with comprehensives
packages to visit the neighbouring states of Punjab,
Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal.
Similarly, other procedures required to be carried
out by the NRIs and their families to visit architectural
monuments like the Capital Complex, would also be
provided in the cell, which are otherwise open through
special permissions for visitors.
The objective of establishing this cell is to highlight
Rural Tourism among the NRIs so that they could experience
the culture here besided availing the abundant medical
facilities available in the state.
