Assuring NRIs that their interests will be protected, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy has said a special cell will be created shortly on the lines of the Kerala government to address the grievances of the community.
Addressing a convention of "NRIs ideas 2004" in Hyderabad on Friday, Reddy said Andhra Pradesh stood second after Kerala in NRIs working in Gulf countries.

The government is aware of problems in the present situation being faced by these NRIs and would draw plans to protect their interest, he added.

The two-day convention which is being attended by NRIs particularly from Gulf countries will discuss the problems and other related matters.
