Finance Minister P Chidambaram announced and made a
provision of Rs seven crore for (NRI Affairs) Ministry of Non Resident
Indian Affairs in the 2004-2005 budget.
Rs. 4.80 crore will be spent on for the Secretariat
-General Services of the Ministry for advertising, publicity efforts
and holding of seminars and studies.
Rs. 1.20 crore have been kept for expenditure on international conferences
and other NRI-related events to be hosted in India.
Rs. one crore has been kept for land acquisition in the current financial
year.
It looks that Manmohan Singh's Govt. is taking serious
steps to attract NRIs for investment
