Reema Lamba birth name, screen name of "Mallika", meaning "empress" and  Sherawat" is her mother's maiden name. She has stated that she uses her mother's maiden name because of the support that her mother has provided her.

Mallika  started her Career in television commercials with Amitabh Bachchan for BPL andShahrukh Khan for Santro

She became popular for her show of skin and several kisses(around 18) in her movie Khwahish, as it featured seventeen on-screen kisses.

She also acted in a music Punjabi video, Lak Tunoo, bySurjit Bindrakhia . She debuted in films with a small role in Jeena Sirf Merre Liye where she was credited as Reema Lamba.

o  In 2003,  she  appeared film,Khwahish.

o  In 2004, she starred in Murder ,  a film inspired by Hollywood's Unfaithful.

o  She received a nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards for her performance in Murder. The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.

o  In 2005, Sherawat acted in The Myth , a Chinese film, co-starring with Jackie Chan. She played the role of an Indian princess who falls in love and is rescued by Jackie. The Myth was her first International film.

o  Her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival to promote the film grabbed a lot of attention with Time Magazine's Richard Corliss calling her "the next big thing"

o  In 2006, Her performance in the film, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, co-starring Rahul Bose , won her praise from around the industry, and the film also did moderately well at the box office.

o  2006 New Year's Eve show at the hotel J.W. Marriot, in Mumbai: She was dressed in a body-hugging skin suit and a silver bikini to top it. Social activist Vinod Jain to urge police to take immediate action against the actress for wearing suggestive clothing.

o   In April, Mallika went on her first world tour of concert performances called Rock Stars along with Salman Khan Kareena Kapoor Shahid Kapur, Zayed Khan and John Abraham .

o   Her first release was Mani Ratnam 's Guru , in which she appeared in a special song, "Mayya Mayya".

o   She also played a guest role in Himesh Reshammiya 's Aap Ka Suroor - The Real Love Story and reportedly charged Rs. 15 million for a 10-minute appearance.[18]

o  Welcome   was released which also did well at the box office receiving blockbuster status.

o   She  attended the wedding of Princess Myasa, King Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa's daughter, in Qatar. Mallika is good friends with the Princess.

·    In 2009,  in Hollywood films:

o   Hissss also starring Irrfan Khan and directed by Jennifer Lynch . The film, based on the legend of Naga , is a an independent co-production between the United States and India. [3] Endeavour Independent has bought the distribution rights of Hisss. [20]

o   Shet promoted the film with live snakes at the Cannes Film Festival 2010.

o    She also worked in Love, Barack, directed by William Dear. Aretha Gupta, a devoted local Obama volunteer coordinator.

o   The film is a romantic comedy set during Barack Obama's campaign for the US Presidency. First look of Love, Barack was unveiled by Sherawat at Cannes 2010

o   She was made an honorary citizen by the Los Angeles City Council during a celebration of India's Independence Day.

o   She  was honored for her work in the field of arts by Mayor Jerramiah T Healy of Jersey City, New Jersey

·         She was  borne  at Rohtak, Haryana, India on  Oct. 24, 1976.

·         She got degree in Philosophy from Miranda House, Delhi University.

·         She worked as air hostess and  was  married to  Jet Airways pilot Captain Karan Singh Gill and divorced in 2001

·         She turned down the offer  to pose nude for  Playboy magazine as first Indian woman ever  offered

·         She wore diamond (value Rs 45 million) at the Cannes Film Festival 2005

·         She accepted the Advisory Board membership of the Asian Academy of film and television supporting the film education in India.

·         Her parents are very religious and don't agree with Mallika  to work in the movies. She always wanted to be an actress

·         She got strong support from her younger brother Vikram
