Federation of Indo-American (FIA) celebrate Independence Day on Aug 03 at Artesia co-sponsorship with the City of Artesia

Federation of Indo-American (FIA) in co-sponsorship with the City of Artesia celebrated India’s Independence Day in a grand manner.

 

  • The program was held at the Artesia Park on the corner of South Street and Clarkdale Street. The leadership of the FIA composed of Rashmi Shah, Ramesh Mahajan, Ishwar Deedwania, Ravji Patel, Manu Patel, Lt. Kevin Kaul, Ravi Grewal, Roshan Khandpur, Reeva Bazroy, Reeva Bazroy, Manubhai Patel, and Ajay Khetani had organized the function in a coordinated way. The program started promptly at 4 PM as the people started coming in.

  • Many dignitaries graced the occasion, which included Artesia Mayor Sally Flowers, Tony Lima, Mayor Pro Tem; Congressman Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Sheriff of Los Angeles County Lee Baca, Cypress Mayor Dr. Prakash Narain, Suzanne M. Frick, Assistant City Manager, City of Long Beach and council members to mention a few.

The organizers also arranged shuttle service from Pioneer Blvd. to the park which took care of the parking problems. There were about 3000 to 5000 people in attendance, irrespective of another leading actress trying to pull the crowd to another Indian organization organizing the celebration on the same day. The President Mr. Ramesh Mahajan thanked all those in attendance to celebrate India’s 67th Independence Day.
