NRI press
John Lovelace, President and CEO of Vancouver- based
ATV Productions Ltd., announced the sale of the production
company he founded eight years ago to Krishnan Suthanthiran.
NRI, Mr. Krishnan Suthanthiran is best known for
his recent purchase of the entire town of Kitsault
in the Northern region of British Columbia.
This is a strategic partnership that will greatly
benefit both parties.
"The sale of the company gives us access to
the resources to make important improvements, while
giving our producers the opportunity to concentrate
on productions," said Mr. Lovelace.
For his part, Mr. Suthanthiran, who has strong ties
to Canada, understands that ATV, and its Vancouver
operations will be able to offer full service multimedia
work to complement his principal business in the pharmaceutical
and medical supply fields. Mr. Suthanthiran's company,
Best Medical International Inc., is headquartered
in Springfield, Virginia, and also has operations
in France and Canada.
"When John and I met last winter," said
Mr. Suthanthiran, "we recognized there was a
good synergy that would allow us both to move ATV
forward in the years ahead. After all, television
production is a global business."
Appreciating the success of ATV's Wings Over Canada
series, which showcases Canada and its natural beauty
in over 135 thirty-minute episodes, Mr. Suthanthiran
also sees a link between ATV and promoting Canada
as a vacation destination.
ATV Productions Ltd. produces Wings Over Canada and
four other television series for broadcasters in Canada,
USA, Israel, and Europe. These programs include the
Canadian Biography Moments for CBC Country Canada,
Driver's Seat now entering its 12th season, Discovering
Great Towns premiering this fall on CLT, Access TV,
