Toronto Dixie Gurdwara Volunteer dies

 

Toronto, April 15, 2004

Harvinder Singh, 41 years old, died in car accident on dated April 14 at 3.00 a.m. According to sewadar Paramjit Singh, Harwinder Singh had been working for hours in the basement kitchen of the Ontario Khalsa Darbar gurdwara on Dixie Rd., was going home at 3:30 a.m. to change when the car he was riding took left turn on Derry Rd. and struck by another car. Harwinder Singh died at the spot and driver Sarbjit Singh, 33, was injured and recovering at Sunnybrook hospital.

Harwinder Singh was working in Kwality Sweets and Restaurant as a cook and he has no relative in Canada. His body will be sent to India for cremation. Ontario Khalsa Darbar gurdwara on Dixie Rd, Toronto is such a nice temple that everyday fresh food is served. Whenever he got a time he would come to gurdwara and help to prepare food for lunch or dinner. This was a shock to sikh community and thousands arrived for prayer.
