Waheeda Rehman and Girish Karnad will be seen together in a film" Brides Wanted".

Sawhney plays an NRI in the film who is looking for a bride and his grandparents played by Waheeda and Karnad helps him out in the process and the bustling non-resident Indian (NRI) community has seven brides, one groom, lots of madness Who will he choose? And who will choose him? That's what Brides Wanted is all about.

"The film is young, peppy and though, the theme of Indian weddings has been tackled before, it looks at it from a new, fresh perspective," Acharya said.

A potent combination of sex pangs and hypocrisy, angst and aggression, it tries to look at that mysterious product of the old and the new - the Indian youth.

As Aakash teeters from situation to situation, and bride to bride, the all under-30 crew of the film attempts to create an authentic feel of love and agony, with great support from Karnad and Rahman, for whom this is their first English movie.

Rahman plays a chirpy grandmother with dignity and more than a bit of devilish fun as she brings loads of attitude into her role.

Karnad is the stately patriarch who bridges the generation gap between him and his grandson (Swahney) with wit and wisdom.

There's also Channel V model Sarah Jane, who is being introduced in the film. A Mumbai-based model, Jane does the shows, On the Run and Get Gorgeous! for Channel V .

Sawhney is a recent entrant into Bollywood and has films like Nayi Padosan and Fun2sshh to his credit.

The film directed by Girish Acharya is made in both Hindi and English languages. Anuj Sawhney (Nayee Padosan, Fun2ssh) plays the male lead in the film. The film is the first fiction project of young director Girish Acharya, a graduate of the New York Film Academy .
