Center conspiring to rob Punjab of its waters under the garb of punishing Pakistan: Khaira
Condemns Gadkari’s statement,  questions silence of Capt Amarinder and Badal

Chandigarh, March 12, 2019
NRIpress.club/Ramesh/ A.Gary Singh

Sukhpal Singh Khaira MLA and President of Punjabi Ekta Party(PEP) today strongly condemned the  statement of Union Water Resource Minister Nitin Gadkari, saying that water from three rivers of Ravi, Beas and Satluj in Punjab would be diverted to Yamuna river to stop flow of water to Pakistan.

Khaira while addressing a press conference here said that Gadkari’s statement was very dangerous and against the interests of Punjab. He said there was a deep rooted conspiracy against Punjab to divest it from its legitimate waters. He said that earlier construction of Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) canal was build to supply Punjab’s water to Haryana. Now it is another attempt by center to rob Punjab of its waters under the garb of punishing Pakistan, he added.

Khaira said that he was surprised that neither Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh not former CM Parkash Singh Badal had given any reaction on Gadkari’s statement which show their complicity in the anti-Punjab stance of BJP government at center. He said that if water from three rivers of Punjab would be diverted to Yamuna, it would ruin Punjab and agriculture land would become barren.

PEP President said that previous government at center had already given share from Punjab’s river waters to Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi under wrong agreements. He said that center’s move to divert water of three rivers would be economic disaster for Punjab. Punjab farmers were already fetching underground water through 14 lakh tube wells installed in the state. NASA, the US space agency has marked Punjab with red spot indicating alarming situation of underground water.

Khaira demands a clarification from center on the statement made by Gadkari. Such a move would be violation of riparian laws because water is the only natural resource with Punjab. He added that Punjab was already excluded from hydro projects and control is given to Bhakra Beas Management Board(BBMB)

He said that PEP will build a mass movement of people against the center’s decision. He also warned the dishonest leaders of Punjab who are part of conspiracy against Punjab.

Khaira also demanded immediate arrest of former CM Parkash Singh Badal, former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal and former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini for their involvement in the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. He said that they should be given exemplary punishment so that in future no one could dare to disrespect any religious scripture. He said that Badal’s action of calling DGP to arrest him was unwarranted. Let Sukhbir Badal also make similar offer.

Khaira said that raids in schools by education authorities along with police teams was highly condemnable. He said that teachers were forced to work on wages of NAREGA. He asked Chief Minister to intervene and give justice to teachers.

Khaira demands white paper on drug menace in Punjab
Blames Capt Amarinder Singh for shielding big fish of drug mafia

Chandigarh, March 12, 2019
NRIpress.club/Ramesh/ A.Gary Singh

Sukhpal Singh Khaira President of Punjab Ekta Party(PEP) today told Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to issue a white paper on drug menace in Punjab and blamed the Chief Minister for making false statements on curbing the activities of drug mafia in state.

Khaira in a statement said that drugs were being sold openly in the state and online purchase of drugs by Simarjeet Singh Bains President of Lok Insaaf Party in Ludhiana is stark evidence of flourishing drug trade, in the state. He said that deaths of youth with over dose were reported from Amritsar recently and many similar incidents had gone unreported. He accused Capt Amarinder Singh for shielding the big fish of drug mafia.

Khaira said that Capt Amarinder Singh had made tall promises before 2017 assembly election to eradicate drugs within four weeks. He and his ministerial colleagues had several times named Bikram Singh Majithia's involvement in synthetic drug trade and made public announcements to put him behind bars within 24 hours of forming government.

Khaira said that Capt Amarinder Singh was answerable to people of Punjab because he was given the verdict to eradicate drug mafia. He said that let Capt Amarinder Singh tell the people how many big drug smugglers were arrested by his government. He said that many political leaders infamous for drug business were enjoying patronage of Chief Minister. He said that on March 8, Rahul Gandhi who addressed a rally at Moga admitted that big drug smugglers were yet to be nabbed. Even Capt Amarinder Singh admitted that drugs were being sold in state despite arrest of large number of drug peddlers. He said that only drug users were being arrested to make false claims on the arrest of drug peddlers.

PEP president said that Chief Minister had played to the gallery by setting up Special Task Force(STF) on drugs. He asked Chief Minister to explain to people the achievements of STF. He said that Harpreet Singh ADGP was appointed head of the STF but before he could catch the big fish, his powers were curtailed and brought under control of former DGP Suresh Arora. He said that Arora was DGP during the SAD-BJP government and it was foolish to expect that he would unmask the drug mafia which existed and grew during his tenure in the previous government. He added that STF was now a non-functional wing of Punjab Police.

Khaira also stated that present DGP Dinkar Gupta is a non-effective police officer who is not seen in the field since the day he has been appointed DGP. He said that he has not spoken a word on activities of drug mafia even after Ludhiana episode. He said that DGP S Chatopadhya in his report submitted to High Court had also raised accusing finger on Gupta for his likely involvement in some shady deals.

Khaira said keeping in view the blatant availability of Chitta/drugs in every nook and corner of the state, Capt. Amrinder Singh must issue a white paper on drugs and admit his colossal failure to curb them.

Misuse of public exchequer funds by Capt Amarinder Singh for political rally of Congress party at Moga in the garb of farmers debt waiver function. I request that the Congress party should bear the expenditure of the said rally.

Chandigarh, March 11, 2019
NRIpress.club/Ramesh/ A.Gary Singh

To,

Mr. Rahul Gandhi,

President,

All Indian Congress Committee,

New Delhi.

Sub:  Misuse of public exchequer funds by Capt Amarinder Singh for political rally of Congress party at Moga in the garb of farmers debt waiver function. I request that the Congress party should bear the expenditure of the said rally.

 Dear Mr. Rahul ji,

I take this opportunity to inform you about the gross misuse of public exchequer funds by Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, to sponsor political rally of the Congress party addressed by you at Moga on March 7, 2019, in the garb of farmers debt waiver function.

Being a President of the Congress party, it was indeed your moral duty to question the state leadership about funds incurred on the arrangement for the rally.  Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has misused government funds to promote the agenda of Congress party, which is unethical and against the principles of good governance that your party propagates.

To my information, Punjab government had declared this political event a debt waiver function of state government but the chronology of events and the tenor of all Congress speakers at the function clearly established that it was a pre election campaign program of the Congress party.

The Capt Amarinder Singh government has spent crores of rupees of the tax payers money for the function. The said huge expenditure included setting up of a huge Pandal, gross misuse of government transportation to ferry people, food arrangements, an expensive artist like Jassi, lakhs of rupees of compensation to the farmers  whose wheat crops were prematurely cut to prepare the ground for rally etc.

I have no hesitation to say that you were privy to the wastage of tax payers money on the political rally. Your speech at the rally was political and not related to woes of debt ridden farmers committing suicides in large numbers in Punjab. Perhaps you are not aware that more than 750 farmers have committed suicides in the last two years of Capt Amarinder Singh government.  The Chief Minister has failed to fulfill the promise of total debt waiver for the farmers of Punjab, turning the so called debt waiver into a farce and a sham.

You were the first to raise the issue of drug menace in Punjab when SAD-BJP government led by Parkash Singh Badal was in the power. You hit the newspaper headlines with revelation that 70 percent of Punjab youth are addicts. I feel sad to inform you that drug trade is continuing with impunity during the Congress regime as well. The big drug mafia like Bikram Majithia ex Minister is being shielded by Capt Amarinder Singh Government. While you talked about drugs at Moga rally, you disappointed the people of Punjab ignoring the ground realities as people on the ground are aware and victims of large scale drug abuse in the state.

You seem ill informed about the performance of Capt Amarinder Singh government.  No section of the society is happy whether it is farmers, employees, traders, industrialists and unemployed youth who are running from pillar to post for a decent livelihood.

Therefore, I request you to direct Capt. Amarinder Singh to refund the tax payers money and to pay for the expenditure from Congress party account. I am sure you will show magnanimity by depositing the expenditure of rally from your party account to save Punjab the agony of further economic disaster as the state is already under a colossal debt of Rs. 2.5 lac crore.

Sukhpal Singh Khaira

President

Punjab Ekta Party,

Chandigarh.

PEP announces its first overseas NRI structure of England

Chandigarh, March 11, 2019
NRIpress.club/Ramesh/ A.Gary Singh

In a press release issued here, Punjab Ekta Party President Sukhpal Singh Khaira released the first list of overseas NRI structure of UK.  As per the structure the UK team will have an 11 member Executive committee and similar committees for five important cities/towns of England dominated by the Punjabi community. Khaira said it is a matter of pride for his party that a vast majority of Punjabi NRI’s have decided to support his party, which they perceive as the upcoming political alternative to the corrupt traditional parties of Akali Dal and Congress in Punjab.

Khaira said that the entire Punjabi NRI community has totally rejected the double standards and the opportunistic politics being pursued by Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party. Khaira said that NRI’s have been badly betrayed by Arvind Kejriwal who collected huge sums of money in the name of bringing a revolution in the Indian politics but is now begging the Congress for an alliance with his party, besides tendering cowardly apology to the drug tainted Ex Minister Bikram Majithia.
Khaira said that the Punjabi NRI’s are playing a vital role in the development of Punjab by investing money to improve schools, hospitals, gurudwaras, promoting sports and also undertaking sewerage projects etc. in the countryside. Khaira said he is sure that if the NRI’s are made partners in the inclusive development and growth of Punjab, they can substantially improve the plight of our state and the living standard of the people. Khaira said till now all the traditional parties including AAP have only been using NRI’s to raise funds and have never bothered to watch their interests, their properties, agricultural lands etc. back home in Punjab. These parties have often slapped false cases against NRI’s to usurp their properties and their lands.

Khaira assured the NRI’s that he would give them direct representation in the ensuing 2022 assembly elections in Punjab by offering NRI’s 3-5 assembly seats in the state. He also said that an NRI would head the NRI affairs department of Punjab as a Minister in case his party forms the government, as he would best understand the pain, agony and the issues of our NRI’s living abroad. Khaira said his party would release more countrywise NRI chapters in the days to come.

Chandigarh, March 13, 2019

Punjab Democratic Alliance(PDA) arrives at consensus on 9 Lok Sabha seats to provide a clean third alternative to the corrupt traditional parties.
In a meeting held at Jalandhar yesterday late evening, four political parties comprising Punjab Ekta Party (PEP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) and the Punjab Manch led by Dr. Gandhi MP have decided to fight the ensuing Lok Sabha elections under the banner of Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA). The PDA has arrived at a consensus on nine Lok Sabha seats, that have been allocated party wise.

1.      Bahujan Samaj Party – Anandpur Sahib, Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur – 3
2.      Punjab Ekta Party – Bathinda and Faridkot – 2
3.      Lok Insaaf Party – Ludhiana, Amritsar and Fatehgarh Sahib – 3
4.      Punjab Manch – Patiala – 1

In a press release issued here today the Khaira stated that the alliance has been forged to liberate Punjab from the clutches of corrupt traditional parties of Congress, SAD-BJP that have looted the state turn wise for the past many decades. Khaira said it was unfortunate that the Akali Dal Taksali unilaterally announced their candidate for the Anandpur Sahib seat while deliberations under the PDA were still going on. He said the PDA strives for complete unity of the opposition ranks and urges the leaders of Akali Dal Taksali to withdraw their candidature from Anandpur sahib seat and join the alliance umbrella in the larger interest of Punjab.

The PDA calls upon all likeminded parties and forces that maintain an equidistance from the corrupt traditional parties of Congress, SAD, BJP to join hands with us so that we can rid Punjab off corrupt and feudal forces. In this context the PDA invites CPI, CPM, RMPI Pasla group and different BKU organisations to support and join us, so that we can all together defeat those responsible for bringing Punjab on the verge of collapse. The alliance stated that the remaining four seats will be decided shortly.
Khaira said those present at the meeting included Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi MP of Punjab Manch, Rashpal Singh Raju President BSP Punjab, Randhir Singh Beniwal Incharge BSP Punjab, Simarjit Singh Bains President Lok Insaaf Party, Gurpartap Singh Khushalpur PAC member PEP, Jaswinder Singh Khalsa of LIP and Dr. J.S. Capt. Amarinder Singh must immediately deposit crores of taxpayer money illegitimately used to further the political agenda of the Congress, in the garb of debt waiver function held at Moga today and presided over by Rahul Gandhi.

Chandigarh, March 11, 2019
NRIpress.club/Ramesh/ A.Gary Singh

Capt. Amarinder Singh must immediately deposit crores of taxpayer money illegitimately used to further the political agenda of the Congress, in the garb of debt waiver function held at Moga today and presided over by Rahul Gandhi.

Dear friend, I urge Capt Amarinder Singh to clarify who paid the expenses for today’s Congress rally at Moga? Because I have learnt that all expenses including Pandal, transportation, food, hiring of an expensive singer like Jassi and compensation for 100 acres wheat crop cut prematurely to facilitate the rally has been paid by the Punjab government. If this is true then in what capacity did Rahul Gandhi preside over a govt debt waiver function? In other words Congress played a cheap trick to use taxpayers money to further its political agenda in view of ensuing Lok Sabha elections. Because after the rally at Moga today Rahul Gandhi also addressed a political rally at Kangra organised by the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), which clearly indicates that the rally at Moga was also a part of the election campaign launched by the Congress party for Lok Sabha polls. PEP strongly condemns misuse of government money for political purposes and demands that Congress should pay all the expenses from its party account. People’s money used for this rally should be deposited back to the treasury without any further delay. Rahul Gandhi and Capt Amarinder Singh should tender a public apology for this cheapest level of politicking at the cost of taxpayers money.

Sukhpal Singh Khaira
