4 KABADDI PLAYERS SUSPENDED AFTER FOUND POSITIVE IN DOPE TEST

Sangrur November 6:

The organizing committee of 2nd World Cup Kabaddi today temporarily suspended 4 players whose dope tests found positive by National Anti Doping Agency laboratory. Disclosing this  here today, Mr. Pargat Singh Organizing Secretary World Cup Kabaddi today said that out of the 12 samples taken at Faridkot of Pool A teams 4 were found positive in A-Test . He said that out of these four players two were from Australia while one each from Germany and Canada.

He said that these players have been temporarily suspended and barred from playing future matches. He reiterated the Organizing Committee’s commitment to ensure dope free World Cup Kabaddi. 

INDIA AND CANADA CONTINUE THEIR WINNING SPREE

       UK GAVE TOUGH FIGHT TO CANADA
       GERMANY BEATS NEPAL BY 58-23

Sangrur, November 6: India and Canada today continued their winning campaign by trouncing Australia and UK while Germany crushed Nepal in Pool ‘A’ matches of World Cup Kabaddi held here in War Heroes Stadium, crystallizing the semifinal position to some extent.

In the first match Germany trounced Nepal by 58-23.  .Germany maintained its complete dominance as it was leading by 36-8 at the time of interval. In Germany the raiders namely Navroop Singh, Navdeep and Ranjit Bath scored 9, 6 and 6 points respectively whereas stopper Balkar Panjgarain made five stops.

In the 2nd match Australia tried to give India some fight but Indian team proved too experienced against Aussies as it comprehensively won the match by margin of 66-23 points. The host nation was leading by 30 – 14 by half time. Indian raiders namely Sukhhbir Sarawan and Sandip Dirba scored 10 points each while Gulzar Singh Moonak and Gaggi Kheerawali scored 8 and 7 points respectively. Indian stoppers namely Ekamjit Singh ( 8) , Nindi Benra ( 6) , Mangi and Bitu earned 4 points each. Australian Raiders namely Harpreet Soni and Gagandeep scored 4 points each while Jatinder Bitu made 2 stops.

In the 3rd and the hardest fought match Canada beats U.K by 42 – 34 points. The interesting feature of this match was that U.K was leading by 21-18 points but in the 2nd half more determined Canadian raiders as well as stoppers turned the table and won the contest. Canadian Raiders namely Gurpreet Singh Burj Hari and Jassa Sidhwan Dona scored and 11 points while stoppers Baljit Saidoke and Sandeep Gurdaspuria made 7 and 4 stops. U.K. raiders Manga Mithapuria and Jagjit Singh Jagga scored 13 and 10 points respectively while stopper Sandeep Nangal Ambian made 6 stops.
