participated in Chandigarh Golf Club event on Nov.21

Sh. Ravi S Sandhu, IAS president of the Chandigarh Golf Club,
performed the ceremonial 'Tee Off. Thirty-six NRIs participated
out of total Ninety-eight participants in the event. The lowest
handicap NRI player was Navreet Kang from the USA with a handicap
of 4. The second leg of the tournament will be held at Panchkula
Golf Club on November 22.
- BRIG HS Gill came out as a winner with a gross score of 76
- MP Singh secured second position on the opening day of the
Second Chandigarh Golfing Tour that commenced at Chandigarh Golf
Club on Wednesday. MP Singh with a card of 64 emerged Net winner,
while Harinder Pal Bedi secured second position in the first leg
of the tour.
- In other events, Jayat Singh won the title for the longest drive
while Bedi secured top position for being nearest to the pin.

Chandigarh Golf Club was was established in 1962 and is located
just south of Sukhna Lake and adjacent to the residence of the Punjab
Governor in Sector 6. Chandigarh. India. 7,202-yard, 18 holes, par-72
course is known for its tight
fairways, which are lined by thick mango, jamun, eucalyptus and
kikar orchards trees and thick roughs. There are quite a few dogleg
holes here, but none gives the players a chance to take the shortcut
as tall trees almost always guard the corners. The Club also possesses
one of the longest par-5s in India, the seventh hole, which measures
613 yards
Home to some of India's finest golfers, including the reigning
Asian Tour king of greens Jeev Milkha Singh, Harmeet Kahlon, Amandeep
Johl, Gurbaaz Mann, Irina Brar and Parneeta Garewal.
