Celebrations at Gurudwara walnut on April 15th 2007

On 15th April 2007, Sri Guru Singh Sabha of Walnut celebrated
the Baisakhi Gurpurab and Turban Day, to inspire the younger
generation to wear turban and maintain Sikhi Bana (dresscode).
The program was started with the Asa Di War Kirtan and Melodious
Kirtan sung by famous ragi's including hajoori ragi Bhai Raghbir
Singh and group of students from the Punjabi Gurmat School
of Gurudwara Walnut. Large number of sangat attended the Baisakhi
celebration. And 75 young children took part in the Turban
Competition. On this auspicous occasion, the elder members
of Sikh community who were dressed in Turban enjoyed the celebrations.
All the young children who participated in the turban competition
were awarded beautiful prizes. The family members of young
children who took part in the competition were very happy
to see thier children in turbans. The sangat appreciated very
much to this program that the management has encouraged the
young generation to learn about sikhism.
Guru ka langar and Akand Path sewa was done by Paramjit Singh
Nijjar family and Saab Singh Bhullar family. Guru Ka Langar
sewa on Saturday April 14th, 2007 was done by Gurbachan Singh
Juneja. The prizes to the children who participated in the
Turban competiton were provided by Sawhney family and Jaspreet
Singh Sawhney was given Sropa for this endeavor. Sropa was
also given to Naginder Singh Sidhu and Paramjit Singh Nijjar
for participating in sewa for the Gurudwara.
