SGPC to support NRI Ripudman Singh, who has been convicted
and fined in Denmark

SGPC has decided to support NRI Ripudman Singh, who
has been convicted and fined in Denmark for wearing
Kirpan.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of
the seven-member sub-committee of the SGPC, said a member
of the sub-committee and SGPC Executive Hardeep Singh
Mohali.
He said it was decided to extend moral, financial and
legal support to Ripudman Singh.
Legal experts have studied the Denmark Court judgement
imposing a fine of 3000 kroners on Singh for wearing
Kirpan, and expert opinion has been given to the NRI
Sikh for filing an appeal in the competent court abroad,
he said.
Mohali said the conviction of Ripudman couldn't be
considered as an individual case as it concerned the
entire Sikh Panth.
