MAYBACH, the high-end luxury car of Daimler Chrysler
has finally come to north India, with Ludhiana taking
the lead. The car, priced at a whopping Rs 5.18 crore,
is the third of its kind in the country. The first
is owned by the Ambani group and the second by the
Manik Chand group.
The multi-crore car has been gifted to Satguru Jagjit
Singh of the Namdhari sect by two of his Non-Resident
Indian (NRI) followers, Tarsem Chand Aggarwal and
Ranjeet Singh, residents of Derby in UK. Satguru Jagjit
Singh resides at Bhaini Sahib, about 20 km from the
city. The NRIs had imported the car from London and
come to Bhaini Sahib to gift the car to their guru.
The car was first seen in the city yesterday when
Satguru Jagjit Singh came to inaugurate the Satguru
Partap Apollo Hospital at Sherpur Chowk.
The car was the centre of the attraction at the function,
and policemen seemed to be extra-cautious about its
security too.
The luxury car, which is made entirely to order and
boasts of many facilities, also has provision for
a saloon, if required. Its roof can change into a
panoramic glass roof too.
