Dr I J Singh, Prominent US-based academic wrote recently: "Manmohan Singh heads a minority government and some disappointing compromises are inevitable. Jagdish Tytler as a minister is widely known as one of the architects of the killings of Sikhs in Delhi in 1984."

Former Canadian minister Herb Dhaliwal, a pillar of the overseas Indian community, was in the Capital recently and expressed similar views.

Most of the Sikh community in India as well as NRI community in the world would never forget 1984 anti-Sikh riots in New Delhi. They expressed disquiet and think that it is a failure of democracy and Central government that even after 20 years of ’84 riots, not a single arrest has been made in the case”.

The jathedar of the Akal Takht, Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti, has summoned the president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Prahlad Singh Chandok, to appear before high priests and clarify why he honored Tytler recently.

NRI sources said there had also been several missives from abroad threatening protests and boycott of Tytler when he will go to see NRIs world wide

Tytler claimed, "Even if they can say that I was directly or indirectly involved I will resign today. Do you know that I won my election because of the support of Sikhs in my constituency?"

Our NRI Sources say the first ever NRI minister is likely to find himself with another portfolio in the first minor Cabinet restructuring scheduled soon – perhaps the food processing ministry.

Most of the NRIs worldwide welcome Manmohan Singh's appointment as a very qualified person without any corruption charges. Sonia Gandhi is considered as a great patriotic woman and great leader who sacrifice her post as prime Miniser to Manmohan Singh and she is very keen for the development of the country.

Most of the professional NRIs have feeling that Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, and Tytler must avoid controversy. They must consider the solution of this issue unless tussle will be continue and it will lead negative role for NRIs for future investment in India
