Hary Sidhu Councilman of Anaheim City,
FORMS 2010 ORANGE COUNTY SUPERVISOR, 4TH DISTRICT, CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE
Anaheim, CA, March 12, 2009
Annie Mezzacappa
With the current economic challenges facing all who live, work,
and do business in North Orange County, Anaheim City Councilman
Harry Sidhu has been giving considerable deliberation as to how
he may best continue to serve and make a difference. He is proud
to have won the office of councilman for two terms, and the goals
that drive him are the chance to serve all, regionally, and get
things done – not personal power or glory. The same core values
that propelled him into business guide him in wanting to return
good service and a “can-do” attitude to all levels of
government.
This has led Councilman Sidhu to form a 2010 Orange County Supervisor,
Fourth District, Campaign Committee. “It has been an honor
and a privilege to have the support of the Indo-American community
in my public service endeavors,” he said, “and I would
welcome the opportunity of receiving early endorsement and any other
support that may be provided – whether it be financial, introducing
me to voters, hosting a coffee, etc.”
“Earning your ongoing trust and backing is very important
to me,” Councilman Sidhu stated. “During my tenure on
the Anaheim City Council, I have been dedicated to improving the
lives and opportunities for all through common sense leadership.
With a proven record of protecting the needs of our taxpayers, families,
and business owners, being ‘tough on crime’ and fostering
a positive/pro-active approach in our communities, our work is never
done. I have strived to ensure transparency in government, accountability,
fairness in economic development, and public safety. As a successful
business owner, I have also brought practical, real world experience
and ‘can-do’ knowledge to the halls of government. Consequently,
our residents and businesses have experienced greater freedom of
choice and opportunities.”
“I am seeking to serve through a regional leadership position
on the Orange County Board of Supervisors,” he explained,
“because the taxpayers need and deserve a strong, problem-solving
voice on the Board from a representative who has reliable business
understanding, as well as background experience in implementing
innovative reforms, such as economic stimulus incentives, to effectively
meet the challenges ahead. We must keep Orange County moving forward
in a positive, economically diverse, and fiscally sound direction.”
“Thirty-four years ago, I came to our great country from
India as a child full of dreams. By way of hard work, as a proud
American, I fulfilled many of those dreams. It has been, and continues
to be, an honor to give back to this great country, and those who
have given me so much, through public service. In the words of Abraham
Lincoln, during this bicentennial celebration of his birth, let
us remember to: ‘Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done
today.’”
“The competition will be spirited,” explained Councilman
Sidhu. “Yet, I am extremely optimistic that with supporters
such as Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and many others that I will announce,
a winning team and coalition will once again be formed to make a
difference by getting things done with the experience we need working
for us!
Harry Sidhu was elected as the first Indo-American to serve on
the Anaheim City Council in 2004 and re-elected to a second term
by a significant margin in November 2008. He currently serves on
the City Audit Committee, has focused on keeping fees low and managing
costs as an Orange County Sanitation District Director, and along
with his City Council colleagues ensured the protection of property
rights through the successful passage of a City Charter Amendment
prohibiting eminent domain abuse. More information on Councilman
Sidhu’s candidacy for OC Supervisor will soon be available
on his campaign website: www.JoinHarry.com.
