Bal and his family have lived in Brampton for
over 22 years. Bal and his wife, Pawanjit, have
three children growing up in Brampton. Originally
from India, Bal moved to Canada in 1981, originally
residing in British Columbia, and in 1983 he settled
in Brampton.
Bal has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Stationary
Engineer 4th class Certificate. In 1984, Bal joined
McDonnell Douglas Canada. In 1994 he joined The
Prudential Insurance Company (later London Life).
In 2004 Bal became associated with Goodison Insurance
and Financial Services, building a successful
business in our community as an Insurance Broker
and a Financial Security Advisor.
Bal has been an active member of Brampton as
a high profile contributor to many local community
agencies and services including the Peel Region
Police Services Board, the Ontario Film Review
Board, the Brampton YMCA Regional Council, the
Brampton Board of Trade Marketing Committee, the
Treasurer and founding member of Ontario Federation
of Sports and Cultural Organization as well as
Director and past Secretary & Treasurer of
Ontario Khalsa Darbar Sports and Cultural Centre.
He remains active in the community serving on
the City of Brampton Property Standards Committee,
the William Osler Hospital Foundation South Asian
Round Table, the Safe City Association Board,
the Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial
Advisors and the Insurance Brokers of Ontario.
