New J Waiver Program for Physicians

May 30, 2004:

The Delta Regional Authority announced the official opening of its J-1 Visa Waiver Program earlier this month. The DRA is now able to act as an "interested government agency" to the U.S. Department of State for the purpose of recommending the waiver of the two-year home-residency requirement on J-1 Visas for foreign medical graduates completing a U.S. residency. This new program will help foreign physicians in the U.S., but will also help stem the tide of our health care shortage in the U.S. .......more
