On March 13, 2010, about 50 students participated in the Sri Hemkunt Foundation Speech Competition for Santa Ana Gurudwara area. The purpose of this exercise is to give the children (and their parents) an opportunity to learn Sikh history and philosophy, and to hone their public speaking skills.
According to the Santa Ana Center Coordinator, Dr. Ginny Chawla, the participants gave excellent speeches, both in Punjabi and English in five different age groups, ranging from six to twenty five years, on a variety of topics. The prizes were awarded by Dr. Wadhwa, president of the Santa Ana Gurudwara and Mrs. Dhillon, principal of GNCA School.
