Singh Chevrolet  honor 23 local middle and high schools in Annual Perfect Attendance Event

2013 Local Riverside Schools Perfect-Attendance Award Appreciation function was held at Singh Chevrolet, 8200 Auto Drive, Riverside CA on May 15 and May 16 to honor 23 local middle and high schools in their 13th annual Perfect Attendance Appreciation Night.

Each year at this event:

The team at Singh Chevrolet serves hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments to the parents, local officials and their award-winning students.

  • Riverside Council members, Riverside County Fire Chief, Riverside police chief, Riverside Mayor and along with other VIPs were also invited for speeches to encourage students.

Twelve local high schools earned the award out of 23 schools. All 12 awarded schools received a desktop computer, color printer, laptop computer, and 2 tickets to Aquarium of the Pacific, 26 tickets to Castle Theme Park, and a $1,000 scholarship from Singh Chevrolet

Eleven local middle schools were also awarded Each middle school also received an award along with other contributions. The 11 awarded schools each received a desktop computer, color printer, 4 tickets to Disney Land, and 2 tickets to Aquarium of the Pacific, 26 tickets to Castle Theme Park, $100 Target Gift Card, and 2 $25 dollar Best Buy Gift Cards.

All parents, students of 23 local schools  and teachers (Riverside, Jurupa, Moreno Valley, and Alvord school districts) were honored for their hard work and perfect attendance throughout the school year 2012.
Lisa Pynn of Alvord High School said, “We have seen an increase in attendance and a decrease in our dropout rates and thanks to Mr. Singh’s vision.”

“I noticed my son and other students were having issues in school because of absenteeism,” said Dalip Singh Sethi in his speech. “I came to Riverside with my family in 1999. I persuaded other area Clubs and businesses to get involved in Helping Riverside students.”

The Riverside officials told NRIpress representative that those students who attend school on a regular basis are more likely to achieve success. Students who meet the required attendance criteria are eligible to win a variety of prizes. Singh Chevrolet has shown great generosity and commitment to our Riverside community by creating this positive attendance incentive program.

 “ We believe that all students need to be present each day to get the maximum benefit from their classes. Chemawa partners with Singh Chevrolets Perfect Attendance Program which rewards students with perfect attendance throughout the year with a variety of prizes and a huge public celebration in May. Singhs program involves many community sponsors. We encourage you to link to their web sites and visit their businesses within the local area as a way of thanking them for their support of education,” Chemawa participates in the Riverside Unified School District Attend for Success Program said.

Mr. Singh gives one-tenth of his income each year to enhancing the well being of his community. Beginning in 2001, in an effort to decrease crime and increase literacy and educational achievement, he initiated a perfect attendance reward program for students enrolled in area high schools.
