NRI Mukherjee acquired 50% stake in realty major
Unitech Ltd’s overseas investment arm

Success Enterprise Pvt Ltd has acquired 50% stake
in realty major Unitech Ltd’s overseas investment arm,
Unitech Corporate Parks Plc.
On Friday it has been raised close to $700 million from the
London Stock Exchange and was disclosed this in its submission
to the LSE on December 5. It has been also announced that
company raised $698 million through an initial public offering
of 360 million shares on LSE’s Alternative Investment
Market.
The company would be investing in six commercial real estate
development projects, including four IT SEZs and one IT Park
in the NCR region, and an IT SEZ in Kolkata.
Mr. Ramesh Chandra of Unitech has strengthened his existing
ties with the NRI, known for his proximity to the Indonesia-based
Salim group.

- Mr. Prasoon Mukherjee was graduated from Central Kolkata
high school and started course in hotel management from
a premier institute here in 1981. After graduated, he took
a job with the Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC)
and very soon he became food and beverages manager.
- After 10 years of service, company send him to USA for
an advanced course in hotel management. On his return, he
was to become the general manager in one of the ITDC hotels,
but he was ignored by a partisan management."
- TGI restaurants in Malaysia: Mukherjee
got a job as a kitchen manager in a restaurant in Kuala
Lumpur. After six months, he was promoted as regional manager
of the TGI Friday group's Malaysia operations and supervised
the functioning of 11 restaurants
- 1994-1999: He became South East Asia's director (operation)
of TGIF and was posted in Singapore.
- Very soon he quit this job and shifted base to Jakarta
where he took up a job with one of Indonesia's biggest corporates-
$25 billion Salim Group, where he worked till 1999.
- Apart from his salary, he received two per cent of the
company's shares as part his whole package. In five years
the share value was $ 11 million
- Outback Steakhouse chain: He sold half
of his shares and with a capital of $ 5.5 million left for
Los Angeles, where he was first introduced to the Outback
Steakhouse chain-one of the world's best casual dinning
restaurant groups.
- As an entrepreneur, he convinced the Outback management
in Atlanta to let him open franchises in South Asia.
- In 2000, he opened his first Outback Steakhouse franchise
in Singapore and then continued opening 21 other Outback
restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Manila
and Jakarta. His turn over was $ 20 million.
- Mr. Mukherjee's aim is to "open 100 Outback Steakhouse
outlets"
