On July 12, 2012, Dr. H.SAHOTA MD,FACC,FSCAI was awarded the GOLDEN ORANGE AWARD by World Affairs Council of Orange County. The Event was held in Hilton Hotel, Costa Mesa, California. The World Affairs Council is a Non-Profit, Non Partisan Organization across the United States, working to engage Americans in International Affairs and Foreign Policy matters. With its outreach programs for High School students and teachers, it brings awareness of historic events. The World Affairs Council has its Head Office in Washington DC with branches all over the United States. It arranges speakers from all walks of life including Heads of States and Ambassadors. All kinds of topics are discussed including Political, Economic and Social.

Along with Dr. Sahota there were two other recipients, Mr. Fred Ameri and Mr. Bruce Hallenbeck. Awards were given for their contribution to both the Orange County Community and to the world affairs council and their continued dedicated leadership on Council board of Trustees. They have contributed to the Education of OT. Awards were presented by Dr. Jo Ellen Chatham past Chairwoman of Council who herself was the recipient of Golden Orange Award.
This ceremony was followed by the presentation by the Guest Speaker of the evening, Phillip Taubman. The Topic was "The Partnership: How the leaders of the Cold War Generation are Coming Together to End Nuclear Weapons"
Dr. Sahota is an inventor of Perfusion Angioplasty Balloon. He has introduced Angioplasty in India, Moscow, Mexico and Ukraine. Recently he was awarded and honored by American Heart Association for his works and contribution to cardiology.
