Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated Invest India’s first overseas office in Singapore today, marking a significant milestone in India’s efforts to attract global investment. This new office will serve as a dedicated point of contact for companies in the region looking to invest in India, facilitating collaboration across various sectors.

The establishment of the Singapore office was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the city-state in September. Goyal emphasized that this initiative opens a new chapter in strengthening economic cooperation not just with Singapore, but also with the broader ASEAN region. He noted that the office aims to provide potential investors with seamless access to information and resources related to India’s dynamic and rapidly growing economy.

In his address, Goyal expressed confidence that the new office would foster stronger ties between Indian and Singaporean businesses, creating a conducive environment for investment and collaboration. He also highlighted the Indian government's commitment to opening more overseas Invest India offices in the coming months, further enhancing its outreach to global investors.

The Singapore office is poised to play a crucial role in promoting India as a preferred investment destination, showcasing opportunities across various sectors and reinforcing India’s position in the global market. This strategic move aligns with the government's vision to attract foreign direct investment and bolster economic growth, positioning India as a key player in the global economy.
