NRI Raj Shah, White House Deputy Spokesman quits Trump to joined a prominent lobby firm
Washington, Jan 15, 2019 Raj Shah, 34, a former researcher at the Republican National Committee and White House deputy spokesman and administration since president Trump took office in January 2017, has left President Donald Trump's administration and joined an arm of a Florida-based lobbying firm Rajiv "Raj" Shah, is the President of the Rockefeller Foundation. He is a former American government official, physician and health economist who served as the 16th Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) from 2010-2015. “I’m excited to join Brian, Jamie and the top-notch team to launch Ballard Media Group,” said Shah. Raj Shah and Jamie Rubin, former assistant secretary of state for public affairs in former President Bill Clinton’s administration, are together leading Ballard Media Group. It's a division of the government relations firm Ballard Partners, founded by longtime Florida lobbyist Brian Ballard. Raj Shah’s response about immigration reforms:
“The President wants to see legal immigration reforms and he wants to see us move from a process currently existing in law, of extended family chain migration toward merit-based legal immigration reform,” Shah told local media.” We want to ensure that people coming in the country are the best and the brightest regardless of nationality, creed, religion or anything else in-between.”

Raj Shah further added: “The President wants reforms that improve America’s economy and he wants to look at educational backgrounds, ability to contribute to the workforce in a way that helps American workers.”

In 1970, his parents moved to the United States. They lived in Chicago and then later moved to Connecticut, where Shah was born and raised. His father was an engineer and his mother worked as dentist.
Raj Shah graduated from High School Brien McMahon as an Ettinger Scholar in Connecticut. In 2006, he got his BS degree from Cornell University as major in government study.
