police arrested one suspect in Satyam engineer's murder

On Tuesday, Akshay Vishal, 26, a software engineer from Hyderabad
in the US was allegedly shot by unidentified gunmen in Little
Rock, Arkansas, USA. The local media identified the arrested person
as Brandon Johnson, 20 years old. Johnson has been involved in
as many as 12 robberies and three murders in the past one month.
According to the police, on the midnight of January 13, Vishal
got out his car when two strangers surrounded him. They apparently
demanded money from him. One of them pumped two bullets into his
right leg, a profusely bleeding and his condition deteriorated.Vishal
was rushed to a hospital and the doctors removed the two bullets
after operating on him for six hours but later he he succumbed
to the injuries. His friends informed the family about his death
on Wednesday.
A Little Rock City Police told media:
- We have been interviewing arrested person all day today.
- He is a strong suspect of the murder.
- We are carrying an intensive investigation into the murder
of Vishal
- We can't release any more detail at this point of time
- Robbery is believed to be the prime motive behind the murder
Akshay Vishal came to the US from India on January 13, 2005 for
doing his masters degree after completing Mechanical Engineering
in Hyderabad. He got his MS degree from Alaska University and
joined Dessault Falcon Jet on behalf of Satyam with the the scam-hit
Satyam Computers two years ago.
The Indian Consulate in Houston has dispatched a senior official
to help local authorities arrange quick transfer of body to India.
They are in touch with Vishal's family, his company and the authorities.
