The Peel police have arrested and charged four NRIs- Guramrit
Sidhu, 45, of Mississauga, Manpreet Padda, 25, of Brampton, Tarinder
Saggi, 32, of Markham and Balbir Thind, 45, of Brampton in connection
with the kidnapping of a Mississauga, 58-year-old doctor (chiropractor)
earlier this week.
Gurmit Grewal, 43, still to be charged, is considered
a flight risk and may try to leave the country, according to police.
He is wanted on a charge of kidnapping and is described as 6-foot-1,
230 pounds, with a full beard and long straight black hair.
Local NRI media told our representative:
- The man was taken for ransom as a result of a family member
being allegedly involved in missing cargo from a transport
truck.
- On Monday night, he left his home for an appointment sometime
between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. (one relative said he went for walk)
- Family members received several calls from the kidnappers,
threatened to kill him if the money wasn’t paid
- No ransom was ever paid
According to the police, on Thursday morning, about
7 am., the motorist found the man bleeding and bruised on Heritage
Rd. in Brampton. His hands and feet were tied with plastic grip
handcuffs. The unidentified man (Mr. Bhullar) was treated for
minor injuries in the hospital.
But how he got there is still a mystery.
Bhullar's friends and relatives said they have no idea why their
family member was targeted. They did not have large amounts of
cash
