NRI, Amrita Jyoti SIDHU, 14 years, was last seen in her hometown
of Surrey, British Columbia, on March 12th, 2006. Her absence
was reported to the Surrey municipal detachment of the R.C.M.P,
who contacted Peel investigators for their help in locating her.
On April 14th, 2006, at 3:45 p.m., acting on information received,
investigators arrived at a residence in the Sandalwood Parkway
and Kennedy Road area of Brampton. SIDHU was located, escorted
from the home and given into the custody of the Children's Aid
Society to be returned home to British Columbia. Subsequent interviews
revealed the female to be in good health.
Peel Regional Police wish to extend thanks to members of the
media and the community who assisted in publicizing this matter.

Month-long search stalled
Surrey RCMP need the public's help in finding a 14-year-old girl
who has been missing for a month.
Amrita "Jyoti" Sidhu was last seen on March 12, when
she ran away from her mother's house.
Police say Sidhu has not contacted her family since leaving home,
but has been spotted in Newton several times.
She is known to frequent the Newton Athletic Park and Scottsdale
Mall.
Sidhu is five-foot-one Indo-Canadian female weighing 130 pounds.
She was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue shirt, white tank
top and blue jeans.
Anyone with information about Sidhu's whereabouts is asked to
contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
