SOUTH AFRICA WINS BACK-TO-BACK TITLE OF MISS

At Jinnder’s 19th Annual Red Carpet Gala, Keresha Kisten helped South Africa win back-to-back titles of Miss India Globe when she was crowned the 2010 titleholder after her country won it in 2009.
The glamorous evening started off with Top Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities from the film and entertainment industry going down the red carpet as many photographers and TV camera crews went into action as they posed for pictures and took interviews. Among the many hot stars at the gala were international model Fabio, Bollywood actress Koena Mitra, Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani, and Bravo TV’s Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri. Jinnder’s events are popularly known to be filled with a lot of glitz and many celebrities from all over the world.
Executive Producer and Creator Jinnder Chohaan mentioned, “We have a great selection of Bollywood and Hollywood here tonight, and they are all having a blast. I’m glad to see that our show has continued with a strong and positive reputation and that celebrities are proud to participate in our spectacular event. Our contestants are always making headway into the entertainment field, but we have also helped many gain entry into prestigious medical and professional colleges. A lot of my past Mr. India winners are doctors now, and they tell me how many of their medical interviews have concentrated on our pageant.” Jinnder is the CEO of South Asia Inc., and she has produced prominent pageants for over 19 years.
Designer Rohini Bedi showcased a beautiful fashion show with gorgeous models displaying her latest designs. All hair and makeup for the fashion show models and pageant contestants were by students at Marinello Schools of Beauty. Kamlesh Chauhan, Founder of Jagriti Foundation, spoke to the audience with passion about how her organization brings much needed awareness to the problem of domestic violence in the South Asian community.
A popular favorite of the audience was the show director & emcee Revi Chohan who charmed everyone with her excellent commentary throughout the evening. The event was presented by DSK Institute of Entertainment Technology, Filmy TV, South Asia Magazine, Marinello Schools of Beauty, Cloud 21 PR, and JINmodels.com.
The gala also was where South Asia Magazine chose to reveal their latest issue by the cover girl Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri of Bravo TV’s Double Exposure fame. South Asia Magazine is an entertainment magazine featuring South Asians excelling in Hollywood & Bollywood. Publisher Jinnder Chohaan expressed, “Over the years, a plethora of US South Asian artists and Bollywood stars have asked me to introduce them to successful Hollywood directors, producers and actors. I am fortunate to have a successful career that allows me access to the Hollywood elite. I have never hesitated to help those artists that truly are working hard to succeed.”
During the evening, The Elite Awards 2010, a prestigious annual awards ceremony was held to honor those that have excelled in the entertainment industry and have inspired others on the way. Executive Producer Jinnder Chohaan highlighted the legendary Hollywood Director Garry Marshall’s work in Hollywood hits: ‘Valentine’s Day’, ‘Pretty Woman’, ‘Runaway Bride’, ‘Princess Diaries’, when honoring him with a much deserved Elite Award.
The Elite Awards ceremony also honored Platinum Record Producer Gary Miller, Bravo TV’s Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri, Model Fabio, Singer/Composer Shani Rigsbee, Stylist George Blodwell, Bollywood Actress & Supermodel Koena Mitra, and Bollywood Actor Aftab Shivdasani. The Elite Awards after-party was hosted by B4U TV.
There were many Celebrity Presenters at The Elite Awards 2010 including Hollywood Actress Ashley Palmer of ‘Paranormal Activity’, Maxim model Leyla Milani and of ‘Deal or No Deal’ fame, Miss South Asia 2008 Gunjan Nanda, Hollywood Actor Samm Levine of ‘Inglorious Bastards’, Fashion Designer Lauren Elaine, Actress Wedil David, Miss Global India 2009 Rashi Stephens, Hollywood Actress Kavita Patil of ‘The Unit’, Bollywood Actress Vivica Mitra of ‘Singh is King’, Mr. India Globe Amit Mehta, and Celebrity Trainer Rehan Jalali.
Kisten mentioned she won a pageant in South Africa earlier this year, and her grand prize got her a spot in Miss India Globe 2010. She was proud to take the crown back again to her country. Her talent was a very original comedy skit where she displayed English accents from different parts of the world.
Dilpreet Virk won the world title Mr. India Globe 2010. Virk danced to a huge roar of applause with his energetic Punjabi bhangra moves. Dilpreet Virk, from California, is also the current Mr. India North America 2010.
Mr. & Miss India Globe 2010 both won 4-month acting courses, including accommodations, at DSK Institute of Entertainment Technology in Mumbai, headed by prominent Bollywood director Rahuul Rawail. Rahuul Rawail said, “I am honored to have my film institute be a part of such a well-respected, first class event in America which promotes our Indians. Jinnder and I have a mutual respect for each others work, and I’m glad we are finally working together. I’m proud of the school we have established in Mumbai, and I look forward to teaching many NRIs at DSK Institute of Entertainment Technology.” Rahuul Rawail discovered KAJOL, JOHN ABRAHAM, AISHWARYA RAI, SUNNY DEOL, AMRITA SINGH, etc. and his hit movies are: ‘Anjaam’, ‘Bekhudi’, ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’, ‘Dacait’, ‘Betaab’, ‘Love Story’, etc.
DSKiet is an academy that offers courses in acting, makeup, production design, directing, cinematography, sound, screenplay writing, editing and producing. Phase 1 will have acting, makeup, production design, starting in December 2010 and all other courses in August 2011. Other top winners of the night were Saad Qureshi & Diksha Vadan who won Mr. & Miss India Galaxy 2010. Prasanna Naidu and Avnee Mithaiwala grabbed the titles Mr. & Miss India America 2010. Payal Wadhawan was declared Mrs India Globe 2010, Mrs India Galaxy title went to Kiran Rai, and Charu Badhwar proudly took the Mrs India America 2010 title.
