SGJC (Sikh Gurdwara Judicial Commission) Chairman,
Kashmir Singh Patti expelled Bibi Jagir Kaur from
the presidentship, the membership of the committee
and cannot become a member of any Gurudwara board
for at least a period of five years
Bibi Jagir Kaur is responsible and accountable
for a loss of nearly Rs 2.5 crore to the SGPC.
She used admission Non-Resident Indian (NRI)
quota to favours his Akali activists by getting them
admission in the five-year MBBS course in 'Shri Guru
Ram Dass Institute of Medical Sciences and Research.
The petitioner, Mr Narinderpal Singh, a Ludhiana
resident, in 1999, after his daughter failed to get
admission in Sri Guru Ram Dass Institute of Medical
Sciences and Research against the Non-Resident
Indian (NRI) quota, had claimed that a number
of students from influential background, including
senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders got free
admission against NRI quota.
Bibi Jagir Kaur, SGPC president said the verdict
as "illegal" and she will challenge it in
the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
