Praveen Kumar Gampa, Indian Student, Shot Dead in Milwaukee Robbery

Praveen Kumar Gampa, a 27-year-old Indian student from Telangana, was shot and killed during a robbery at a store where he worked part-time in Milwaukee early Wednesday morning.

• Praveen Gampa, a resident of Kesha pet in Ranga Reddy district
• He had moved to the U.S. in 2023 to pursue a master’s degree in data science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
• His father, Raghavulu, shared that he had missed a call from his son that morning and later learned about the shooting through his son’s friends.
• Efforts are being made to transport his mortal remains to India for the final rites.

The Consulate General of India in Chicago expressed condolences, stating that they are in touch with Gampa’s family and the university to provide assistance.
