Guru Amar Das Multimedia Sikh Museum which is 2nd of is kind
in the Sikh world has been opened for general public at Sri Guru
Singh Sabha Gurdwara Complex, Model Town Jalandhar. The project
has been sponsored by the Gurdwara Managing Committee headed by
Gursher Singh and Surinderpal Singh Gwalior, the General Secretary.
An eminent environmentalist Baba Sewa Singh Kar Sewa Khadur Sahib
performed opening Ardas. Dr Barjinder Singh Hamdard a prominent
dignitary and Chairman of the Ajit Publication Group performed
inauguration ceremony of the Multimedia Sikh Museum.
Dr. Raghbir Singh Bains a world known drug therapist, encyclopaedist
and museologist has authored and created this unique kind of museum
which contains 50,000 pages of Encyclopaedia of Sikhism that high
lights Sikh religion, history, culture and Sikh heritage. The
multimedia museum contains audios, videos, animations, colourful
graphics, loads of text and quick reference on Sikhism and visitors
can walk through Sikh history of persecution, suppression and
oppression. Dr Bains had already directed and produced Robotic
and LCD Touch Screen Museum at Khadur Sahib which was first of
its kind in the world.
The Museum is a large visitor attraction and an indispensable
reference on Sikhism, and its value system. It is an incredible
and super-modern gift for youth and global communities to know
the universal religion of the world and its golden principles.
It creates awareness about evils of alcohol, drugs, rapes, adultery
and AIDS. There are interactive multimedia games and quizzes on
Sikh religion, its heritage and Sikh history for children, audio-visual
Sikh Ardas, animated blood dripping sacrifices of Sikh martyrs
and other important events with Kirtan by 60 Ragi Jathas from
Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Dr Bains is a great role model with mission
to spread the universal teachings and messages of Sikhism enshrined
in Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
Dr Bains is a selfless crusader against social evils including
drugs and prostitution. He has been honoured with dozens of national
and international awards for altruistic service to human beings
by using fascinating technology of multimedia to introduce Sikhism,
its scripture, spiritual aspect, history, philosophy, theology,
heritage and culture in the world. The unique aspect of the museum
is that it includes a considerable courses on audio-visual learning
of Punjabi and English language for children and people of all
ages. Besides, there are thousands of questions and answers with
interactive games and quizzes on Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Sikh religion,
Sikh philosophy and Sikh history that range for all ages. The
section of world Gurdwaras included in the museum is very attractive.
Kirtan by 60 Ragi Jathas including 31 Ragas is soul searching
piece in the museum. It is a great boon and incredible gift for
children, parents, students, teachers, preachers, speakers, researchers,
leaders, debaters, laymen, clergies, Gurdwara Committees, Granthis,
Ragis, Dhadis, judges, lawyers, doctors, media reporters, libraries,
youth, and especially for the Sikhs of all ages. Dr Bains is a
committed educator and mentor who introduced Sikhism globally
in the 21st century through latest technology of the world.
One more gem was added into the accomplishments of Dr Raghbir
Singh Bains when he was bestowed with ‘Glory of Punjab Award’
for his tireless services to the international society and setting
up the Multimedia Sikh Museum at Jalandhar. Dr Bains said, ‘I
plan to set up three more multimedia Museums in the world and
thus the count will become five including Multimedia Sikh Museum
at Khadur Sahib”.
