NRI owner of £170,000
sports car killed in M8 crash and burst into flames

NRI Gurcharn Singh Padda, 25, of Lenzie, Glasgow, was killed at
the scene after his black Lamborghini Gallardo £170,000 supercar
collided with several trees off the M8 and burst into flames. On
Wednesday night, the accident took place at about 11:10 west of
junction four at Whitburn, West Lothian.
According to the police, on Wednesday night, the conditions on
the M8 were wet but not icy with the whole road treated with salt
between 9pm and 11pm. He added that he did not think alcohol or
drugs were forming part of that inquiry.
He had picked up 29 yrs old woman at Edinburgh Airport and she
was seriously injured with a broken collarbone and abdominal injuries.
She might be thrown out of the car as the car hit the tree. She
had just returned from Dubai.
Last year, his father Balvinder Singh Padda, a businessman who
died of a heart attack at the age of 50. Balvinder Padda had owned
the Indian Cottage restaurant in Kirkintilloch, Dunbartonshir. He
also had several other restaurants. He also bought residential and
industrial properties in Glasgow.
Gurcharn Padda was a director in two property-related firms. He
owned a number of luxury cars. In August, he celebrated his 25th
birthday with his nephew Ajay.
Jasbal Singh Khaira, uncle of Mr. Padda said that his son talked
to Gurcharn hours before the crash and Gurcharn said he was going
for dinner in Edinburgh. I have informed this tragedy to his grandparents,
who are coming from India.
A girlfriend of Padda, Felicity Shand, 26, student at Strathclyde
University was also informed. His friend said he was kind-hearted
and was always there when anyone needed him. His mum and three brothers
got a great loss. He lived at home and was good to his family. Everyone
in the family is heartbroken by this.
Lamborghini Gallardo is one of the fastest car and are fewer than
1,000 Gallardos in the UK. This car has a huge V-10 engine and can
reach 60mph from a standing start in 3.9 seconds. It has a top speed
of 196 mph. The Lamborghini was voted “Dream Car of the Year”
in 2006 by the BBC’s Top Gear show and was used by Batman’s
alter ego Bruce Wayne in the recent film The Dark Knight.
