Dear Chief Secretary,
This has reference to your letter to chief secretaries
of states dated October 25, 2005 published on the
web site, regarding marriages to overseas Indians,
in which you have spoken about sufferings of Indian
women who have fallen victims of marriage fraud.
In this connection, your kind attention is invited
to Travel Advisory issued by US State Department
long ago cautioning US Citizens of Indian Origin about
dangers of travel to India The problem is so serious
that US government has warned as under:-
A number of U.S.citizen men who have come to India
to marry Indian nationals have been arrested and charged
with crimes related to dowry extraction.
Many of the charges stem from the U.S.citizens inability
to provide an immigrant
visa for his prospective spouse to travel immediately
to the United states.
The courts sometimes order the U.S.citizen to pay
large sums of money to his spouse in
exchange for the dismissal of charges.
Your Kind attention is also invited to the rejection
of thousands of spouse and fiance visas by US
consulates, sought by UN-scrupulous Indian girls and
women fraudulently, intending to migrate to USA to
have better life style.
Your attention is also invited to the misfortune
of hundreds of US Citizens and their parents who's
only crime was to marry a Indian Girl, and have fallen
victims of marriage fraud. They are suffering under
false prosecutions started under section 498A of Indian
Penal Code and Dowry Act which have become a big racket
in India.
FIRs are registered in collusion with Indian Law and
Justice enforcing machinery.
US Citizens are arrested on their visit to India and
Jailed without Bail. They are subjected to Extortion
by police and lower judiciary to get themselves released
from Jail on Bail
Your kind attention is also invited to the fact
that every prosecution under section 498A against
US Citizens has proved as blackmail for Extortion
of Alimony in Dollars
by the UN- scrupulous spouses. For law enforcing machinery
498A has become easy tool to rob dollars from US Citizens.
Your kind attention is also drawn to the fact that
hundreds of US Citizen children have been abducted
or kidnapped by Indian women who are wrongly sheltered
by corrupt Indian legal system.
No Indian Child has been reported kidnapped by any
US Citizen of Indian Origin.
Your Ministry is making too much noise for wrong cause.
As a responsible Mission your approach to the issue
appears to be irresponsible.
There is no credibility or accountability in overseas
Indians Affairs.
Regards.
