Name of this Article: bullying
& desertion by nri husband
Dear sir/madam,
I have just happened to read the article of nri husband
deserting his wife in uk.
I have a similar story of myself. as
I am still hoping for restoration of my married life.
I am an indian, married in india to
a british born (Indian). Our marriage is also registered
in india. I came to UK on spouse visa, lived with
my husband & other in-laws. initially for the
few months everything went well. but later when his
family (my in-laws) also joined in UK & then they
started taunting me,verbally abusing me . I felt,
I was brought to UK as a maid servant to cook, clean
& take orders from not just my husband but also
from all the in-laws. When I conveyed the pain to
my husband, my husband took his parents side &
said if I want the marriage to work I have to do as
everyone says. This went on for 2 years. Then, just
when my spouse visa was to get expired he bought the
ticket & forced me to go to india.
Now it has been almost 1 year in india
, I have been trying to communicate with him, but
he does not respond. He is asking me to come on visitor's
visa.insipite of knowing that I am not earning, he
wants me to arrange for the ticket & change myself
if I want to come UK. I don't understand his intentions.
I do not know what to do. Please advise
me as to how uk government or any other organisation
can help me.
can he divorce me from uk without coming
to india? should i apply for divorce? or should i
wait?
please help me.
regards,
saraswati.
