Only one day before NRI doctor from New Hampshire, paid Rs 40 lakh for divorce case settlement because police arrested his relative and kept in jail one month. On Wednesday, another New York businessman, Rohit Jaiswal was arrested as soon as he along with his wife Indruja reached at his home in Calcutta.

Believe or not, Rohit' s parents and his nephews were also arrested under Section 498A. Indruja's mother Mamata registered a case under 498A because Indruja from New York called her mother, Mamata to narrate her plight according to news media.

Rohit's all family members were released on Wednesday afternoon on bail because Mamata made out-of-court settlement. She said that she does not want her daughter become media news in public.

Indruja is a daughter of most prominent person, a CPM councilor in Howrah. In 2002, she was married to Rohit and more than 25,000 guest attended the ceremony. It is said that they have not happy marriage.

NRI, Satinder Kohli from New York said, this is husband and wife problem and if they like to divorce, court shall be involved. How come third party, mother of the girl involved and used 498A against his parents to arrest them. Govr. must do something unless this will become international issue.

• Section 498A.of the Indian Penal Code makes it mandatory for police to book husband and his parents and other relatives/friends whoever being named on the complaint by wife or her close relatives and jail them.
