California NRI, 55 arrested for fraud and raping the
24 yrs girl

NRI Baldev Singh, 55, from California was arrested
by Salem Tabri police for committing a fraud and raping
a 24-year-old woman, resident of Ashok Nagar, Ludhiana.
Police said that Baldev Singh took Rs 1.5 lakh to
Rs 2 lakh from the victim’s family for just paper
marriage to migrate the girl to California.
NRI Baldev Singh took the girl to Mumbai with him
to prepare migration documents. The girl was accompanied
by her cousin and Baldev Singh took the girl to hotel
after leaving cousin at a gurdwara in Mumbai.
Baldev Singh returned to California after leaving
her at Ludhiana. The family of the girl have complained
that Baldev Singh repeatedly raped her.
NRI Baldev Singh's wife in California has already
file a divorce against him. He has 14 years old son.
On May 30, 2005, Baldev Singh again visited Ludhiana
and tried to rape the girl. The family immediately
file a complaint against him. SHO, Arvind Puri of
Salem Tabri police station arrested Baldv Singh.
