In a statement issued here today Mr. Grewal said that Manpreet posing himself as a votary of moral values and acting according to the conscience , has no right to illegally occupy the post of MLA won on SAD ticket, after being expelled from party. He said that if he was so confident of his political acumen and fiscal policies, he should resign and fight elections to see that how voters of Giddarbaha would get his security deposit forfeited. Taking a dig a at principle advocated by Manpreet of not including blood relative in the ministry Mr. Badal said that whatever Manpreet has a achieved in politics since 1995, was only because of relationship with S. Chandigarh November 14 –
The Shiromani Akali Dal today said here today that the so-called new agenda announced by Manpreet Singh Badal was “a mere re-iteration of the programmes and policies of the Shiromani Akali Dal.”
Dismissing Manpreet’s rally as a “flop show”, a p-arty spokesman said that the gathering was a “motley crowd of people borrowed from the Congress and anti- SAD splinter groups. “The Congress could not manage a good show for poor Manpreet despite pumping in he funds and lending manpower support to him in a bid to weaken the Akali Dal,”
said the spokesperson.
In a statement here, a party spokesperson said, “All the points that figure on the so-called new agenda form not just a part of the party’s programmes but also feature on its manifestoes for the 2002 and 2007 elections. Manpreet Singh needs to tell the people as to what did he do as minister to achieve these goals.”
The spokesperson also ridiculed Manpreet’s assertion that two blood relatives should not be members of the same cabinet. “If this is his genuine conviction, he should have refused to become a minister in a cabinet headed by his uncle, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal.
Clearly, Manpreet’s convictions are also a slave to his convenience.
Why has this wisdom dawned on him ony after having enjoyed all the perks of power for more than three and half years,” said the spokesperson.
The Spokesman also said that Manpreet’s stand on subsidies was “laughable”. On the one hand , he is opposing the subsidies calling them as a fiscal management disaster while on the other he describes old age pension, food subsidy ( atta-daal scheme), education and health subsidies as “ good subsidies”. The only subsidy he failed to describe as “a good” subsidy is the shagun scheme. And this is amazing and speaks of his true mindset.
The spokesman also found it intriguing that Manpreet Singh did not utter a word against the policies of the Congress government at the center which are responsible for the debt burden against Punjab.

HEALTH MINISTER WRITES TO CIVIL AVIATION MINISTER ABOUT MISMANAGEMENT IN AIR-INDIA - DELAYED FLIGHTS
Chandigarh, 14th November:
Punjab’s Health Minister, Prof Laxmi Kanta Chawla, today wrote a letter to Sh. Praful Patel, Union Civil Aviation Minister, highlighting the plight of people travelling in Air India. She wrote that during the last 2 weeks, Air India flights from Amritsar are delayed due to which the travellers are facing a tough time. She said a delay of 2 to 6 hours in time of the flight means a big loss of valuable time and money of passengers, especially the ones who have to borne a connected flight or train to other destinations.
Health Minister said earlier in April 2010, at Guwahti Airport, the Air India officers themselves along with the other passengers were seen facing harassment due to mismanagement in Air India flights. She added that day before yesterday, she along with other travellers again faced same situation at Amritsar Airport, owing which she along with her officials could not attend an important meeting scheduled by Government of India at Delhi. Prof Chawla questioned that ‘is there any kind of conspiracy taking place to rout-out our national Air line and to promote private airlines’. She said when flights of private airlines like Kingfisher or Jet are flying on time; the stranded passengers of our own Airline are simply left to think whether they made a mistake by choosing to travel in Air India. She said that we
(Indians) would definitely wish that our money must go to our own national airlines only and nobody wants to fill the coffers of private airliners at the cost of our own airline.
Prof Chawla strongly urged Mr Patel to look into the matter to improve the working of Air India so that the travellers do not have to face harassment. She also asked Patel to provide duly compensate the people who have suffered due to the deficient services of the Air India.

Chandigarh, Novermber 13 : Mr. Sewa Singh Sekhwan core committee member of Shiromani Akali Dal and Education Minister Punjab today termed Mr. Manpreet Singh Badal as a Congress agent who has fell prey to the mechanizations of Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, in desperation to get elevated to the post of Chief Minister.
In a statement issued here today, Mr. Sekhwan said that Manpreet in collaboration with Union Finance Minister had conspired to split Shiromani Akali Dal with an assurance that Congress would make him Chief Minister. He said that Congress wanted to adopt Maharashtra model in which they had misguided Raj Thakrey to split Shiv Sena.
Mr. Sekhwan said that four time MLA from SAD ticket Manpreet Singh Badal wanted to ditch the electorate by denying the all promised made in the manifesto in desperation to get the post of CM. He wanted to use every available platform crushing the poor people and farmers in his lust for power. Mr. Sekhwan said that it was S. WOULD PREFER TO DIE RATHER BACKTRACKING FROM PROMISES MADE IN MANIFESTO – SUKHBIR
· AIR-CONDITION LOVING PHOTO OP CONGRESS LEADERS NO MATCH FOR REJUVENATED AKALI CADRE
· KICK-STARTS RS. 32 CRORE WATER AND SEWERAGE PROJECTS IN MULLANPUR , MALOUD AND PAYAL
· WORLD KABBADI LEAGUE IN NEW STADIUMS NEXT YEAR
Ludhiana November 12:
Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister today said that he would prefer to get his head slain rather than to backtrack on promises made to the people in the manifesto.
Addressing the mammoth gatherings at Mullanpur, Maloud and Payal after kick starting 100% water supply and sewerage coverage projects worth Rs. 32 crores, Mr. Badal said that Shiromani Akali Dal has a chequered history of sacrifices for the principles and as the youngest President of 90 year old party, he would not budge from the principled stands. Terming the controversy on fulfilling the promises on subsidies to poor and farmers as farce, Mr. Badal said that "it is not a personal fight with his younger cousin but a fight of principles." When we make promises to the people to win elections, we would not backtrack from the promises after winning elections, Mr. Badal thundered. He said that backtracking from promises was Congress culture and unfortunately my cousin was playing in their hands .
Mr. Badal said that he was not he was least concerned about change of leadership in Congress and was focusing on completing the work initiated by the government for development. Describing Congress as no match for SAD, Mr. Badal said that air-condition loving, photo op and road show Tamasha leaders who cannot stand in sun continuously for ten minutes , could never match the rejuvenated and committed cadre of SAD who have built up the party by spending years in jail and working tirelessly for welfare of Aam Admi. He said that it was Congress culture to remain in cocoon for 3 ½ years and start making noises, nearing the elections on non issues. He said that even after elections, Congress remains away from the people during first four years and tries to befool public in the elections year to garner votes. He said that if Captain was sincere to the farmers why he shied away from free power in first four years of his tenure and allowed it in the election year. He said that on the contrast Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister Punjab allowed free power to the farm sector from the day he took over the reins of power.
Charging Union Government for discriminating against Punjab especially during election year, Mr. Badal said that it adopted different standards for procuring paddy from two neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana. He said that moisture percentage that was 20% three years ago has been reduced to 17% to scuttle the procurement operations in Punjab in election year. He said that after creating problems for the farmers during peek season, it reduced the percentage at the fag end of season. Questioning Punjab Unit of Congress for its criminal deliberate silence on this crucial issue affecting 70 % population of the state, Mr. Badal said that photo ops at Mandis don’t solve the problem. If Congress leaders were serious why it did not pressurized its Central leadership to keep moisture percentage at 20%.
Describing the propaganda of so called debt trap, Mr. Badal said that Mr. Badal said that by doubling the VAT from Rs. 5000 crore to Rs. 11000 crore, Excise from Rs.1500 to Rs.3000 crore, Punjab was the fastest growing economy of India attracting investments from India and abroad and that was creating fear psychosis amongst the Congress and self styled saviours of Punjab. Advising such leaders not to fall in the trap of the Congress party, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Congress since last 62 years had been unsuccessfully trying to break Shiromani Akali Dal but its efforts failed miserably.
Unveiling the visionary agenda of development Mr. Badal said that SAD BJP Government has accepted the Sreedharan Committee Report for starting metro in Ludhiana and was in consultation with Union Government to work out joint finance model for this Rs.7000 crore project. He said that during last 3 years our government has executed development works of Rs. 1100 crore for Ludhaina city alone and today's three projects of 100% coverage of water supply and sewerage in Mullanpur , Payal and Maloud falsify the propaganda of Congress of poor financial health of Punjab.
Earlier in a Separate function of Nehru Sidhant Kendra Trust Mr. Badal conferred Sat Paul Mittal National Award for outstanding services to humanity for the year 2010 to Dr. E.Sreedharan, MD, Delhi Metro Corporation and the Akshaya Patra Foundation jointly.
