SHIROMANI AKALI DAL ALL SET TO CREATE HISTORY IN DELHI ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS

Shiromani Akali Dal is all set to create history in Delhi Assembly elections under the young, inspiring and dynamic leadership of S. Sukhbir Singh Badal , vision of four times Chief Minister of Punjab S. Parkash Singh Badal and with meticulous planning of election strategy by S. Bikram Singh Majithia, youngest Cabinet Minister of Punjab and Patron, Youth Akali Dal, who was marshalling the sources of young Akalis.

Shiromani Akali Dal, an age old alliance partner of BJP fighting on four seats, Rajouri Garden, Jangpura, Adarsh Nagar and Shahadra is all set to register impressive victories in these constituencies thereby paving the way for installation of BJP- Akali Dal Government in Delhi on mounting anger against inefficiency of Sheela Dikshit government besides riding on affinity of Punjabi population with Shiromani Akali Dal. Political observers are watching these elections with interest as these elections would be instrumental in bringing the SAD symbol 'Scale" on national political scene.

The vigorous and stimulating leadership of SAD President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal has been successfully inspired the predominant young voters and the BJP-SAD alliance clearly emerged as front runner firmly marching ahead to take the reins of government. BJP, an age old alliance partner with SAD in Punjab that has stood the test of time, is all set to prove its worth in Delhi Poll also.

It is for the first time that Shiromani Akali Dal is contesting these election in Rajouri Garden on its own symbol 'Scale' besides other three seats on the 'Lotus' symbol of BJP.

The Bhartiya Janata Party cadres are campaigning hand- in- hand with SAD cadre to ensure victory on all the seats in Delhi.

S. Sukhbir Singh Badal and S. Parkash Singh Badal who are in Delhi from last two weeks are constantly on 'padyatras' in the lanes of Delhi and regularly addressing election rallies through out the mega city to seek votes for BJP-SAD alliance to change the face of Delhi and to prepare the national capital for the challenges ahead in 21st century.

S. Bikram Singh Majithia the youngest Cabinet Minister of Punjab and Punjab Chief Minister's Advisor and General Secretary and spokesman of the Party, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, are constantly monitoring the election strategy besides most of Punjab Ministers, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries and MLAs were also addressing corner meetings and establishing personal rapport with the voters for change in Delhi. S. Avtar Singh Makkar President Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and scores of SGPC members are also fanning through out Delhi seeking votes for BJP-SAD alliance.


SHIROMANI AKALI DAL-HIT PROMISES TO CHANGE THE FACE OF RAJOURI GARDEN ASSEMBLY CONSTITUENCY OF DELHI

S. Avtar Singh Hit BJP-SAD alliance candidate from Rajouri Garden seat today blamed Sheela Dikshit Government for poor civic amenities, especially in Rajouri Garden constituency and fast deteriorating law and order situation in New Delhi.

Addressing an impressive election rally organized in Khayala Mandal by S. Bikram Singh Majithia, the youngest Cabinet Minister of Punjab and Patron, Youth Akali Dal, Mr. Hit said that in was unfortunate that Delhi state has failed to protect the lives and properties of people of Delhi and people have no faith in Delhi Government after its total failure in improving law and order situation in the State.

Lambasting the Congress government for price rise, its failure to even basic civic amenities in Rajouri Garden area, Mr. Hit said that previous candidate had failed to ensure civic amenities including better roads, constant water supply, underground sewerage and uninterrupted electricity supply for the residents of the onstituency. He said that BJP-SAD Government would be committed to upgrade the infrastructure in this area and to provide qualityand regular basic necessities for the area.

Mr.Hit promised that he was out to change the face of Rajouri Garden by providing it all civic amenities, replacing age old street lights and also tackle the problem of sealing effectively as per the convenience of general public.

Speaking on the occasion S. Bikram Singh Majithia, Cabinet Minister, Punjab said that people of Delhi were preparing to celebrate another Deepawali to mark an end of a decade long dark era of Congress misrule. He said that the residents of Delhi were so fed up from corrupt and in efficient government of Congress that they are itching to put the last nail in the coffin in Delhi.

He said that as the elections was getting nearer and nearer, the people of Delhi were getting restless to give last parting blow to corrupt Congress Government by putting seals on SCALE/LOTUS symbols of BJP-SAD combine.

It may be mentioned here that all the cabinet members of SAD-BJP Government are fanning through out Delhi campaigning for candidates of BJP and SAD.

PUNJAB CM MOURNS THE DEATH OF MAJ GEN HIMMAT SINGH & Ex-VC PAU DR. SUKHDEV SINGH

The Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today mourned the sad demise of the noted defence analyst, a prolific writer and a former diplomat, Maj Gen Himmat Singh Gill (Retd), who was cremated here this afternoon.

In a condolence message Mr. Badal recalled his meritorious services in Defence & Diplomatic circles and described his passing away as a national loss in general and Punjab in particular being a valiant son of the soil. His outstanding contribution to decipher sensitive issues of country's defence and security in common man's parlance through print media was highly appreciable.

Later in the evening, Mr. Badal called on Mr. Himmat Singh's brother, Union Minister of State for Sports Mr. M.S. Gill at his residence to share his heartfelt condolences and sympathies with the members of the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also condoled the passing away of former Vice Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University Dr. Sukhdev Singh and appreciated his yeoman service for the modernization of agriculture and dairy development in the state. Mr. Badal said that he was a multi-faceted personality being an eminent sugarcane scientist, able administrator and above all a fine human being.


PUNJAB CM, SUKHBIR AND MAJITHIA MOURNS THE DEATH OF V.P.SINGH

The Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today deeply mourned the sad demise of former Prime Minister India Mr. V.P.Singh, who passed away in New Delhi after a prolonged illness.

In a condolence message, Mr. Badal said that Mr. V.P. Singh was a great statesman, seasoned politician, nationalist and a great human being. Mr. Badal said that Mr. V.P. Singh's demise is a great lost to the nation in general and Punjab in particular. Mr. Badal recalled Mr. V.P. Singh's great concern for Punjab when the State was going through a tragic face. He took the Punjab problem with utmost gravity and sincerity and treated it with unmatched compassion going out of his way to provide the much-needed healing touch to the bleeding hearts in Punjab .

The Shiromani Akali Dal President and Member Parliament Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal also conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the member of the bereaved family. Describing Mr. V.P. Singh as one of the greatest champion of the poor and downtrodden in post independence history of our country, he said that Mr. V.P. Singh's services towards the uplift of the lower strata of the society would be ever remembered by one and all. Mr. Badal also paid glowing tributes to Mr. V.P. Singh's commitment to politics of integrity and honesty.

Meanwhile, the Information & Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia also condoled the sad demise of Mr. V.P. Singh and prayed to the Almighty to give strength and courage to all his nears and dears to bear this irreparable loss and grant peace to the departed soul.


PUNJAB CM CONDEMNS MUMBAI TERROR STRIKES

The Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today condemned the terror strikes in Mumbai last night.

In a statement here, Mr. Badal described the incidents as "most tragic and most reprehensible". He said no religion preaches hatred, violence and killing of innocents"

Mr. Badal also said the nation must stay united and maintain peace and communal harmony at all costs.

The Chief Minister also hoped that political parties and leaders would not succumb to the temptation of indulging in any blame game and would treat violence as "a common enemy of mankind."

Mr. Badal also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to those who have suffered in the Bombay strikes.No.

PUNJAB GOVERNMENT TO HELP BRING LATEST FARMING TECHNIQUES FOR FARMERS
Becomes Host State of Agro Tech 2008

Agro Tech 2008 will be held here at the Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh from November 28 - December 1. It will showcase the latest in agricultural technology, products and allied services.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Punjab government said that the focus of the Punjab Government was to constantly help the hard-working Punjab farmer to increase yields from his land and become more prosperous. Hence, Punjab has become the Host State of Agro Tech 2008 and farmers from all over the State should visit the Fair to see and take advantage of the latest farming techniques.

"It is the Punjabi farmer who will benefit the most from Agro Tech 2008 because of his enterprising spirit and his willingness to try new technologies. Our farmers were the first to translate agricultural technology into the Green Revolution, recording the highest growth in food production. The White Revolution made it the State with the highest per capita availability of milk. The hard work put in by the Punjab farmer can also be see from the fact that the total Geographical area of the state is 50.36 lakh hectares, out of which 42.24 lakh hectares is under cultivation," said the spokesman.

"Our farmers will be able to see how yields are being increased by farmers in other countries, as nations like Italy , Germany , Canada , Spain , UK , Japan and The Netherlands are participating in the Fair. A number of research institutes will also be present at Agro Tech 2008 and our farmers can get a lot of their questions answered by the experts available there," he further added.

"Agriculture is the back bone of not only the State but also of the Indian economy, and agricultural development is central to all strategies for planned development. The challenges faced by agriculture sector can be met only by making the farmers, their incomes and welfare the main focus of planning. It is our Vision that the Punjabi farmer continues to be the most prosperous in the country and our people and State flourish. Agro Tech is a stepping stone in this direction and I hope our farmers take full advantage of it," said the spokesman

Agro Tech 2008 will feature concurrent shows – Agri Expo, Agri Services Showcase, Biotech, Dairy Expo, Farm Tech, Food Expo and Poultry Livestock Expo. 3 International Conferences and a series of Kisan Ghostis, covering different sectors of agriculture and related economy which are likely to spur agri-sector growth in the country will also be held, added the spokesman.


SHEILA DIKSHIT GOVERNMENT'S ANTI-PEOPLE STANCE SET TO COST IT DEARLY:HIT

S. Avtar Singh Hit, BJP-SAD candidate from Rajouri Garden Assembly Constituency today said that by shirking from full statehood's promise, nexus with power distribution companies and blue line mafia, pitiable law and order situation and gross misappropriation of developmental funds, the Sheila Dikshit led government in Delhi has itself ensured the pack up of this most corrupt and inefficient government forced on the people of Delhi.

Addressing a series of election rallies in Khayala, Vishnu Garden, Tagore Garden and Mukharjee Park areas of Rajouri Garden constituency S. Hit dared congress party to come clean on these issues as the people of Delhi had already made their mind to install BJP-SAD government in the National Capital due to this combine's credibility and efficiency tested on time to time.

S. Hit said that Sheila Dikshit Government by denying full statehood to the people of Delhi had itself established that it was not competent enough to keep law and order situation under control and it has a lack of confidence to rein in Delhi police despite looting the people of Delhi for a long period of ten years. Commenting on the pitiable situation of law and order in the state, S. Hit said that the life for senior citizens and ladies have become a nightmare in the city due to constant rise in crime against these two most vulnerable sections of the society.

He further said that the blue line mafia under the patronage of present Congress government has made the life of Delhi residents miserable. Pick pocketing, eve teasing, molestation of ladies, harassment of senior citizens besides over charging along with misbehaviour by the unruly bus conductors and drivers of this 'notorious bus service' were ruling the roost in every local bus and the Congress government was continuing its 'who cares' approach, S. Hit added.

S. Hit said that private electricity distribution company BSES by submitting a wrong affidavit in collusion with present congress government had raised the electricity tariff thrice in last five years without having any statutory power thereby putting a heavy burden on the general public which was already suffering due to high increase in the costs of essential commodities through artificial inflation created by the economists duo of our Prime Minister and Finance Minister.

S. Hit also demanded a substantial decrease in the cost of petroleum products as the price of crude oil in International market already dipped $147 to $ 40 per barrel.

S. Hit expressed confidence that the people of Delhi would fully support and vote for BJP-SAD combine to teach present congress government a lesson for its anti-people especially anti poor stance in last two terms.


MAJITHIA DEMANDS WHITE PAPER ON INFLATION

Patron of Youth Akali Dal and Punjab's Youngest Cabinet Minister S. Bikram Singh Majithia today charged that inflation was artificially enhanced by the Congress party to benefit certain industrial houses and Multinational Companies (MNC) for a consideration.

While addressing a number of election rallies in favour of S. Avtar Singh Hit BJP-SAD candidate from Rajouri Garden Assembly Constituency ,S. Majithia demanded a white paper on inflation, its reasons, its beneficiaries and its impact on the households of ordinary Indian citizens. He said that the time has come that people should know how few people in government and industry joined hands to raise prices of essential goods. He said that every decision to regulate and restrict the flow of such goods was taken at highest level to benefit certain big industrial houses.

He said that UPA government stooped so low that it created artificial shortage of commodities to keep their prices high in the domestic market. The concerned Ministries also cooperated with the industrial lobbies to calibrate import or export of commodities in order to maintain their high prices in the country at every cost.

Accusing UPA government for collectively looting the country to the tune of thousands of crores, S. Majithia said that a high level commission headed by a sitting Supreme Court Judge should also be set up to investigate the whole scam of artificial inflation and to nail its major beneficiaries and their patrons.

S. Majithia urged the intelligent voters of Delhi to whole heartedly support and vote for BJP-SAD alliance candidates to unseat the present corrupt and inefficient Sheila Dikshit Government to usher in an era of balanced and over all development in the national capital besides for creation of a transparent and efficient government fully committed to the cause of the betterment of general public.
