SAD DEMANDS HIGH LEVEL PROBE INTO REGISTRATION OF BOGUS VOTES
Press Release
New Delhi November 25
SHIROMANI AKALI DAL
The Shiromani Akali Dal alleged that large number of bogus voters
are registered in the Khayala village of Rajouri Garden assembly
constituency of Delhi from where SAD candidate Avtar Singh Hit is
contesting on its party symbol 'Scales' in alliance with BJP. The
SAD filed a written complaint in this regard to the Election Commission
of India and demanded a high level inquiry into the matter and urged
the ECI to delete all these bogus votes from the voter lists. It
may be mentioned that Khayala village is the native village of the
ruling Congress party Candidate Mr. A Dayanand Chandila A.
The SAD Secretary and Spokesperson Dr Daljit Singh Cheema alleged
that a screening of the voter lists of Khayala village of the constituency
reveals that in 18 different houses a total of 944 voters have been
registered. This is practically not possible for so many persons
to reside in a small house of 150 sq. yards. Because along with
voters other members of their family also stay in the same houses.
Giving details about this scandal Dr. Cheema said that it has been
seen that 134 voters are registered in House No. WZ 189 of Khayala
village (part 15), 120 voters in house no. WZ 102 of the Khayala
village(Part 13), 87 voters ere there in house no. WZ 101 and 80
voters are there in house no. WZ 40/1, (Part 12) which is the residence
of Congress party Candidate from 27-Rajouri Garden assembly constituency.
The name of the Congress candidate also exist in this house at serial
no. 525 as A Dayanand Chandila A s/o Prahalad Singh Chandila. The
commission has been provided with all minute details of the bogus
