building constructed, he sold this land to Sh. Karanvir Verma,
Sh. Ramesh Kumar Verma sons of Prof. Darbari Lal and Smt. Veena
Rani w/o Prof. Darbari Lal, ex-MLA.
Mr. Kalia said that a four storied building has been erected
by them at the site which has led to obstruction in clear visibility
zone making the junction accident prone.
The Minister informed that a departmental enquiry was conducted
by vigilance cell of the local body department on the complaint
filed by Sh. Naresh Sharma, ex-Municipal Councillor regarding
this illegal construction.
Mr. Kalia further stated that after detailed enquiry, the Government,
has now ordered to handover this case to Vigilance Bureau for
the purpose of registration of the case under various Sections
of IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act. Departmental action against
Sh. Gurcharan Singh, XEN MC Jalandhar has been approved by the
government. Government has further decided to retrieve the orders
passed by the previous government giving sanction to the building
plan and to maintain the site as per the original sanctioned scheme
as open space.
