An NRI couple, presently living in Moga, today alleged that they
were being harassed and implicated in a false case at the behest
of Punjab minister Avtar Henry and senior police officials of Moga.
Jaswant Brar and his wife Jagshir Brar, alleged in a press conference,
that Inderjit Singh, a close relative of Henry, and another Punjab
politician had taken a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from him. After taking
the money, they lodged a false complaint of cheating and forgery
in order to avoid the payment of the loan against the couple, they
alleged.
Jaswant alleged that he had struck a deal to purchase a piece of
land from Inderjit Singh, who had taken several loans from various
banks and persons. Jaswant alleged that he was denied possession
of the land and falsely implicated in a case and put behind bars.
He alleged that he received a threatening call from Henry yesterday
