One official said that
we want the registrations to be submitted early. If registration
is done before 30 Nov. 2006 then the registration fees is USD 200
but from Dec 1, 2006 it will be USD 250. Every year we have difficulties
as many submit on the last day and therefore it is difficult to
get the badges and conference files ready.
In 2006, the first Overseas
Citizenship of India (OCI) card was issued that allows its holder
free access to India and gives him all rights except political privileges.
The government has issued 59,600 OCI cards so far.
