The Indian Worldwide Chamber of Commerce (IWCC) yesterday
announced that it would set up a unit in Dubai as
part of a drive to provide a common platform for enterprising
NRIs around the world. The launch of the Dubai chapter
will be formally announced at the IWCC Business Seminar
in Dubai to be staged on April 8 at Renaissance Hotel.
Some 300 delegates, comprising businessmen and professionals,
are expected to take part in the one-day event featuring
a panel of leading NRI businessmen and investment
experts, said Dr P.A. Ibrahim, chairman of IWCC, and
chairperson of World Malayalee Council (WMC), a New
Jersey-based global organisation dedicated to bring
together Keralites across the globe.
He said IWCC, affiliated to WMC, seeks to harness
the skills and experience of Malayalees to create
a mutually beneficial association.
The chamber has set up its first chapter in Chennai.
The Dubai unit aims to provide Gulf NRIs a platform
for networking, and interaction to enable them to
foster a mutually beneficial business and social partnership.
