Most people of Indian origin between the ages of
7 and 57 have heard of Bhangra Fusion. Bhangra Fusion
is a bhangra (punjabi cultural dance) competition
held yearly in Detroit, MI by Hype Productions. Hype
Productions was founded by Davinder (Bobby) Singh,
and his sister Gurinder Singh while studying at the
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
This year will mark the 6th year of the Bhangra Fusion
dance compeition. Bhangra Fusion VI will be held on
Friday, March 25th 2005, at the State Theater (Detroit,
MI). The show will feature 12 dance teams from across
the country. Teams will be competing from California,
Texas, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Massachusettes, Vancouver,
Illinois, and Washington D.C. The show will also feature
a mindblowing performance by Lehmber Hussainpuri,
the voice behind most of today's hit songs, and DJ
Ranjha, the nations best Indian DJ.
