Teeyan

Teeyan is the women's dance festival of the Punjab and is celebrated in the month of Sawan. Married daughters come to their parent's house and their young brothers fix the swings for them. Hundereds married and unmarried girls get together to the common place near the bank of some river or pond under big shady trees. Swings are thrown over the branches, swinging, singing, and dancing starts. At home, girls prepare Kheer Poorae, Gulgale, Karah and Pakoras in this month.
