Holi Milan 2012 in Simi Valley, Calofornia

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) together with many other community organizations organized Indian festival HOLI at Rancho Simi Community Park in Simi Valley, California on Sunday, March 11th . This was a successful effort by HSS, simi valley to bring various organizations together and celebrate this colorful festival. The arrival of spring was celebrated wtih colors, music, dance, food and it attracted people from all over Los Angeles area. 



Holi has been celebrated for past few years in Simi Valley by various organizations independently. This year, HSS focused on bringing together the Hindu community in Simi Valley to celebrate Holi. This has been a great success with more than 1,000 people and 12 organizations participating in the event. The event held in the “Duck Park” of Simi Valley, started with games for kids of different age groups while parents had some time to check out participating non-profit organizations booths. The water balloons for kids was a big hit. The music played by DJ kept everyone on their feet as they danced to Bollywood/Holi songs. Indian variety food provided by various food trucks was enjoyed by the crowd. This splendid Holi event was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd who danced to the beats of Dhol and DJ. 

If was a great experience for people who have never played holi before. The organizers provided free herbal Holi colors and people played with only dry colors. Some comments were made that's how Holi should be celebrated. This festive event was well-organized and widely appreciated by everyone.  

Madhusudhana Hebbar from HSS  added 'It was wonderful to see people participated with such enthusiasm in the event'. Sunil Agrawal from HSS thanked to all the volunteers from HSS and different organizations, and all 3 photographers who donated their time to make this event a huge success. Sunil Agrawal also added "thanks to mother India to give such a colorful and joyful festival to the world where people forget all stress and enjoy the vary moment". HSS celebrates all Indian festival with great success and they do have plan to organize this splendid event which brings Indian and american community together.

The Holi event was planned and executed by HSS volunteers Sunil Agrawal, and Amar Nadig and actively supported by Madhusudhan Hebbar, Madhav Vennela, Naga Prasad, Vijay Gugnani, Upendra Kumar etc.
