March 23, 2004

Another international film that’s scheduled to go on the floors in India next month and will be shot in Mumbai and Goa.This film is produced by Vivek Wadhwa and Brad Listermann, venture capitalists from the US. The love story is set partly in the US and partly in India. “The film'budget is less than a million dollars. The film is written by an American, Richard Martini, who wrote and directed You Can’t Hurry Love.

Kashmira Shah and producer Brad Listermann share the writing credits. My Bollywood Bride will be shot in English with limited amounts of Hindi dialogue and will include an eclectic mix of international music. "My Bollywood Bride" is a Hollywood film, which will be marketed to mainstream American and European audiences. Since an Indian girl Kashmira Shah plays the lead, we also hope to rope in the NRI moviegoer and, of course, audiences in India.” As the title indicates, this romantic comedy has an US-settled English writer who meets a Bollywood actress and falls in love with her. He follows her home to Mumbai and his adventures in trying to get a grip of the mad Bollywood industry makes for most part of the film.

  • An actor Nick Moran, best known for his co-starring role in the hit Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, is currently under negotiation to play the main lead.
  • Kashmira Shah will play the female lead in the film. The rest of the cast finalised are Sanjay Suri, Gulshan Grover and Ayub Khan. Rajeev Virani will direct the film.
