The film is about an NRI who transforms an entire village and transforms their attitude. The entire film is being shot in Punjab. ‘Mera Pind’ is a complete family entertainer with a perfect blend of emotions, drama and comedy. The movie is a joint production of Adlabs and Punj-Aab Movies with Harbhajan Mann in the lead role along with Navjot Singh Sidhu as co-star.

NRI Harbhajan Mann, a popular Punjabi singer and actor has already acted in several Punjabi blockbusters such as Mitti Wajaan Maardi, Asaan Nu Mann Watnaan Da, Jee Aaayaan Nu, Yaaran Naal Baharaan and Dil Apna Punjabi.

Navjot Sidhu, MP, Cricketer, TV anchor, and now actor is playing the role of "NRI" (non-resident Indian), who returns to India for good and settled in a small village of Punjab. He tries to uplift the village folks of Punjab, spreads the message of self-empowerment and entrepreneurship amongst the village youth. Their lives are changed by Sidhu’s simple but extremely enterprising initiatives. Soon, the village transforms into a modern prosperous hamlet and becomes a model village. The film drives an important message targeted at Punjabi audiences to realize the importance of being an entrepreneur in one’s own land rather than showing their extraordinary entrepreneurship in the West where Punjabis are touted to be fairly successful and hardworking, an impression which belies the visible reality back home.

"My life is based on experiments and I have tried my hands at infinite things. But I have no qualms in saying that this experiment of acting was the best one of my life," told Sidhu to media."I am ready to do more Punjabi films in future, but the only condition is that they should portray meaningful and responsible cinema. Films are the best medium to diffuse any social message in the society and have the capacity to bring unexpected positive changes. I believe in becoming master of all trades and jack of none."

It was also said that Navjot was offered a role in Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming release Sing is Kinng, but he turned it down

Kimi Varma, the Los Angeles-based actress has acted in a few Hindi films and anchored a TV serial Meri Saheli. She acted in movies like Asa Nu Maan Watna Da, Shaheed Uddham Singh and 'Ji Aaya Nu'. She started her career as an actress in Manmohan Singh's 'Naseebo'. "She is working in 'Sasriakaal', being made by Mata Tripathi Trust

DIRECTOR, Manmohan Singh has changed the face of Punjabi cinema by delivering hits like ‘Asa Nu Maan Watna Da’, ‘Dil Apna Punjabi’ J’ee Aaayaan Nu’, ‘Yaaran Naal Baharaan’and ‘Mitti Wajaan Mardi’. He has also worked on the making of superhit Hindi films like Darr, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai and Mohabbatein.

He has won several awards for cinematography namely the Filmfare Award for Best Cinematographer for Chandni & Darr, Sansui Viewers Choice for Best Cinematographer for Mohabbatein and Lux Zee Cine Awards for Best Cinematographer for Dil To Pagal Hai.

In 1990, he moved to Punjab from Bombay and made more than seven films
