Patiala February 10 : The Princely city Patiala today gave an opulent welcome to film “Patiala House” as Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma descended in the city to thank Patialvis for their large heartedness.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and MP Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu as Akshay Kumar reached SRS Theater in the city, a sea of humanity seemed to have descended in Patiala chocking every route to the theater. Overwhelmed by the grand reception, Akshay Kumar said that though he has acted in more than 125 films but this film was closest to his heart. He said that whatever may be the commercial success of the film, this was his best film of his life.

Keeping the media in partial suspense Akshay announced that he would make a high quality next film in his mother tongue Punjabi on the traditional sports of Punjab, as a humble tribute to his motherland. He said that he was born and brought up in Sri Amritsar that gave his life a character a mission and blessing of Waheguru to succeed in life.

Saluting the Punjabis for their large heartedness, earthiness and magnanimity, Akshay said that in whatever corner of the globe, he goes, Punjabis welcome him with open arms. Thanking the Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal for offering to organize premier of Patiala House in Patiala, Akshay said that though he received offers from Newyork, London, Canada, Mumbai , New Delhi and Chandigarh for hosting the premier show but he preferred Patiala. He said that he was greatly thankful to Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal for organizing such a grand show in a three day notice. He said that it was like a “homecoming” for him.

Speaking on the occasion Anushka Sharma said that his debut film was “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” based on Punjabi culture was a grand success in Box Office and hoped that on this film also Punjabis all over the globe would shower their love and affection.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that it was matter of great pride for a every Punjabi that Akshay was acting as a Ambassador of Punjabi culture through his home production besides giving a fillip to the sports also.

Later Akshay and Anushka enjoyed the screening of this movie and went to every theater to interact with audience.
