Singh is King of FIA-SC for the year 2008-09

The Federation of Indo-American Associations of Southern California (Est. 1979) on November 14, 2006 unanimously elected Ajmer Singh its new president for the year 2008-09. Since joining the FIA-SC in 2004 Ajmer has actively participated and coordinated in various FIA functions and has served the community diligently. He is currently employed as a director at UMA ENTERPRIZE an importer and wholesaler of Home Décor and Accent Furniture.

Past President Kewal Kanda called and chaired the election meeting. Nominations were solicited by the Election Commissioner Ishwar Deedwania. Based on the nominations Mr. Deedwania declared the following Executive Committee elected unanimously that will support the incoming president Ajmer Singh during his tenure.

The newly elected FIA-SC officers for the year 2008-09 are: Surinder S. Bhogal - Chairman; Ajmer Singh - President; Anju Garg & Atul Gandhi - Executive Vice-Presidents; Rajinder Dhunna - Secretary; Swaran S. Dabgotra - Treasurer; Suresh Patel - Joint Secretary; Harjit S. Bhogal & Vandana Ranjan - VP Cultural; Balwinder S. Garcha - VP Public Relations; Ravinder Verma – VP Special Events; Aparna Hande - VP Planning; Makam Subbarao - VP Community; Jalu Bidye - VP Operations; Surinder Luthra - VP Sr. Affairs; Arti Garg, Gunjan Amin & Preeti Tilve - VP Youth Affairs.
